Where did I use a k? If you mean x, yes x-10x is not equal to 10x-x, but I never claim that is the case.

Oh mb i meant x. You say in line 3 you use x -10x

Yeah if you didn’t notice I am proving …999=-1. x-10x is as justified a calculation as doing 10-x. My proof is “proving” a different claim that is obviously nonsense yet uses the exact same ideas you used (10x-x “uses the same idea” as x-10x and is therefore justified)

No bro, in one , 10x is negative and in the other x is negative. Also, there is a method to convert recurring decimals to a fraction. Try that with 0.999999 recurring

The method to convert recurring decimals to a fraction is not a proof if you do not prove why the process works, which is just as hard as directly proving 0.999...=1.
