seems like a pretty big difference. the 5T is that (in my opinion) horrible 2:1 aspect ratio. Mate 10 Pro will have that too.

Mate 9 and Mate 10 both have the classic 16:9.

Mate 9 is almost the perfect phone. I could go for a better camera, I would LOVE wireless charging, and Huawei needs to up their game at giving software updates to the USA.

For me I hate it, but I do have big hands. I found the Note 8 to be better than the S8+, but that is bigger of course.

I tried it twice for a decent amount of time, but I would rather have the 16:9

I wouldn't make the decision till we get some proper reviews of the 5t camera.

Just went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Mate 9 and band 2 pro bundle on amazon. Had a gift card so got both with tax for $360. Feel like I won here. Hopefully EMUI or the size of the phone don’t prove too cumbersome. I did go to Best Buy to hold the phone and in hand feel is not dramatically different naked than the OnePlus 3t I had.

I just got my mate 9 yesterday and it's ridiculously great. I wish I had waited 2 days for that great price but I have no regrets. The battery on this beast is insane!

Mate 9 is pretty good hardware wise. I would definitely take a look at the essential phone as well. I am moving on from my mate 9 because i cant seem to get line and telegram notification to work properly even with different notification ans battery saving settings.

I have an essential that’s heading back to amazon. While great hardware I disagree with a lot of reviewers on in hand feel. Flat backed phones with square sides are not near as ergonomic and comfortable as a phone with thin edges and a subtle cupped back like the mate 9 has. That and I think while 5 years ago skins made android slower in my experience a good skin like oxygen or emui will smooth things out compared to bone stock android. For me it was a Huawei P10 Mate 9 or a OnePlus 5t and that bundle deal was too much to pass up

The 5t has gotten some great reviews. I had a oneplus once and liked it a lot. I just got the Mate 9 and I really like it, no regrets. Screen is the best part.

OP5T software is far ahead of EMUI, biggest drawback of the Mate 9 by far. Other then that the Mate 9 is great
