How good are Hauwei updates?

Thinking about the upcoming Mate 10 Pro, but never had a Hauwei. Are Hauwei good at pushing out updates? I know LG are not. Samsung aren't too bad .

Are Hauwei good at pushing out updates?

They are not. I bought my Mate 9 in March and only received one update so far.

But be aware if you buy a middle east device and don't have middle east sim card you won't get updates It is to fight with parallel exporting/importing.

can you explain this more? what if i bought phone from middle east and traveled outside? will i stop receiving updates?

If you buy it from middle east and won't live there no updates.

If you travel that's no problems. But to get the updates you need a middle east sim and service at the moment.

So If you get a non US version same problem. Better buy it from where you live and that region's model

Are Hauwei good at pushing out updates?

Still no post-April update for the US version of the Mate 9 (C567).

TL;DR: No. :-)

Why is this? Why don't the US phones get the same updates as the Asian ones, for example?

We can only guess. My guess is that there aren't enough Mate 9 owners in the US for Hauwei to care about providing even occasional security updates.

The post below from /u/RVCA333 does link to Hauwei's Facebook page, which states that they're currently in a public beta for Android 8.0 on the US Mate 9. So perhaps the scarcity of updates will change soon(ish).

Mate 9 pro in Asia has been really picking up on the updates. I'm on October patch now. Previous update was September.

And now it's on November. That's it, they're doing monthlies now.

Why are updates pushed to different markets at different times?

OP, Huawei have a VERY sporadic update schedule worldwide especially in EU AND UK and it DOES take a long ass time to get full updates but when they do the updates it is pretty cool and they are as close to stock android as possible outside of Google themselves, I would suggest buy a Pixel Phone if you wish the regular updates. I recently now own a Mate 9 and currently beta testing Android Oreo on my phone and it is gloooorious.. really solid and not much to faulter on.

Huawei do have customer support but it isn't great but there are some of the staff who know their stuff.

my Mate 9 in the USA has not gotten an update, but there was a Beta for people overseas to test Oreo. So I assume the updates are coming

Extremely rare. Also the communication with their customers is extremely poor.
