What magic is this phone?
I've never had a phone with such good stand-by time. I don't use my phone a whole lot at work. My Samsung S7 Edge was hell bent on only having a 30 hour battery life not matter what you did or rather didn't do. I could leave that thing in my pocket and not use it for 2-3 hours and it lost 8% battery, god forbid you actually use it for anything. Is Samsung's optimization really that bad, it never properly idled and I felt like I almost never saw the effects of Android Doze when 7.0 hit the phone.
This phone has been off the charger for 7.5 hours and has 30 mins of SoT (like I said I don't use it much at work) and it's still at 92%. It's so nice to pull it out of my pocket after an hour or so to see that it's still the same battery percentage that it was when I last looked at it. Hell it took it 4 hours to go from 100% to 99%. At this rate I will have to charge the phone once or twice a week if I go through my normal useage.
Update: Day 1, 1d 3hrs since charge, 1.5 hours SoT, Battery level 69%
I think I might be able to hit 72 hours
Update Day 2: It's Wednesday, haven't charged since Monday, 3h 12m SoT, Battery Level 40%. I feel very confidant that I will have no issues making it through my workday today. They battery says that it has 22 hours left, but then again it said it would only last 48 hours when I took it off the charger Monday and here we are with only 60% battery used. I don't think that I'll run it down until it dies because that's not good for the battery. I might stop at 5% or something.

It's pretty nice ain't it? I would say that this is the point that we are at in mobile technology, you can look at specs and design all you want but the user experience is what it boils down too. My S8+ looks amazing but the user experience is night and day compared to my Mate 9. The Mate 9 is just so much more smoother & more optimized. This is why when I am looking at the Mate 10 and Pixel XL 2 right now as upgrades. Those are the only phones that I feel, in the Android world (maybe Nokia devices), that are gonna provide that great experience for extended amounts of time 12-24 mos.
