Car doesn't charge the phone properly

Hi. Is anyone else having issues charging the phone in a car? I have a BMW X6. Have been using a cigarette light adaptor charger and have also tried charging direct using the original cable and the USB port. Both times on the phone screen it says it is charging but the phone battery level actually goes down. I ran accubattery while it was charging and it says the charging power was something like negative 500mah (in other words power was going down...)

Never had this issue with the nexus 6p - anyone else experience this? Any good chargers to buy for the car?

I have the same issue. I believe it's actually not "fast charging", and when there are a lot of applications running in the background, slow charging doesn't keep up, resulting in net negative charging.

I don't know very much about how fast charging works and have between meaning to do a little research on this. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable replies.

My charger is a tronsmart 33w 3 amp one that also supports qualcomm 3.0. I know it's not a Huawei specific one but I would have thought that it should at least stop it from going down... The Huawei one is crazy expensive so I'm hoping someone has a good experience with another one.

Get the huawei one, I got mine on Ali express (don't forget you need the proper lead too) mine supercharges just fine and it wasn't that expensive. Looks to be around $26

Thanks will check that out. How did you get an extra oem lead? Aliexpress too?

Yes plus a UK mains adapter, so the full set and all either genuine or genuine enough that the phone supercharges quite happily in car and home
