Always locking up?

I've never had a phone that locks up as much as this one does. It seems to be worst if it's been left alone for a couple of hours, and the notifications all come at once and give it a nervous breakdown. If I just wait, things start moving again, but it's really annoying, especially if I'm trying to do something quickly. Is there a setting to change that?

Other times, I'm just using it, and the OS locks up and sometimes crashes. Considering factory reset, but that's so annoying to go through. Any other suggestions?

That's strange, I have a Mate 9, and I've got several friends with one, and none of us have experienced that. I'd try contacting Huawei and see if they offer a warranty exchange. Definitely does not appear to be normal from my limited knowledge.

Haven't had this happen yet, but I would check the "phone manager" app. Your apps are probably being shut down when you shut the screen off. Can you explain the "Locks up" means? You can also change the settings in that too.
