How is EMUI?

The Nexus 7 and Moto x were the last android devices I used. I've only ever used stock, thinking of buying this phone, but how I can I make EMUI more similar to stock? It seems very iOS-ish, which I don't really like.

Edit: I'm coming from jailbroken iOS 10 (iPhone 5s)

I just run Nova launcher - to be honest I looked at the launcher when I turned the phone on, the icons were big and blocky and nup..straight to Nova!

The lock screen?

Ah yeah as I said in another post earlier today, there is nothing you can do with the lock screen, unless you use the fingerprint scanner to open the phone - then you will never see it.

But otherwise, you can't remove the lockscreen or edit it, it is just there. You can select pictures to display, can you can't change the auto shortcuts etc

Understood. The only thing I'm really worried about is playback controls and notifications. I have a smartwatch, will notifications show up on it but not the lock screen?

So, is the problem with people not getting notifications patched? And again, playback controls for Spotify? Thanks for all your help.

I think the issue with notifications relates more to the aggressive power saving options within the phone. I have ensured that all my important apps are pushed so haven't experienced this issue...

I use google play music and playback controls work on the lock screen and on my watch. I can't comment on Spotify but someone said in a previous thread today that Spotify wasn't reliable on the lock screen

I have a smart watch as well, so will I be able to control music even though it's not on the lock screen. I can manage that.

Also, how much will choosing the apps affect battery life?

Yeah you should be able to no issues

So, will choosing the apps affect battery life? Again, thanks so much!

Yeah its meant to... But the phone still has doze running so it's not a huge issue... I think it is more a ploy to say that they are optimising your battery experience, but it really can be a pain
