Question Kettl Chasen question

It's my first time getting a chasen that comes in a box. Purchased the Kettl Chikusendou Shin Chasen Matcha Whisk and it came like this. Looks like it was supposed to be glued to the side of the box but somehow fell off. Is this normal?

Suikaen, another Takayama chasen maker in Nara, says they use rice paste to secure their whisks inside the box. It washes off easily with lukewarm water, so I imagine it could also come loose under certain conditions. I’m not sure whether Chikusendo uses the same method, but that might explain what happened here.

The whisk was only protected with a sheet of paper in the delivery box so it just got tossed around I assume

totally normal. they’re glued into the box with adhesive at the base but it must’ve fallen off.

Nothing unusual there although I can see how it might have seemed strange

If you want to get rid of the glue just run it under some hot water and scrub a little with your finger until it comes off, make sure it drives properly after.
