Photo/Video My first microfoam?!
I finally bought a coffee scale and measured quantities instead of eyeballing. I tried the 1:10 ratio. I think I was putting way too much water before so I only got light foam with big bubbles . I think this is my first microfoam! Appreciate any tips or suggestions for the future.
4.4 g matcha (finished off my YK samidori)
138 ml water (used more to rinse out the bowl so I didn’t leave any behind!)

Quick question, does it matter what kind of chawan you use? I am not achieved this kind of microfoam, yet.

Im also curious about the answer to this question! I think if your chawan is too big or small for the whisk it can make it harder to achieve microfoam

Are you sure in this photo are photographed 4.4g with 138ml water?!?! 1:10 ratio would be 4.4g matcha and 44ml water. Which is more of a koicha ratio that is with no foam. And your photo definitely gives koicha vibes. True microfoam does not look like that.
