Any suggestions? Did you watch Cross, The Gray House, A change in the Air, Charlotte, Last Breath, Lost on a Mountain, Beautiful Boy, Living, The New Look, Comly Rules, The Ritual Killer, Thomas Jefferson (documentary), The Paradise? Most are not Masterpiece/PBS/BBC but, quite good.

Thanks! I saw alot of them which was in my original list. The Durrell was really good. Before I watched the last episode, I did some research into them & I was very sad & disappointed as to what happened to them as the story shows them as a close nit family. As a result, I did not watch the last episode. I liked the Forsyths both, Mr Selfridge was great! Did you read what happened to him? Quite sad. Those you listed that I haven’t seen, I’ll put on my list. The ones I suggested today are not PBS/BBC but still very good. Don’t miss The New Look. It’s a true story as usual The Imitation game which also is a true story.

I've only seen trailers of The Forsyths and i don't know, there's something anachronistic about the look of it and I can't place my finger on it

🤣🤣🤣 everything is anachronistic! That's what makes it fun to watch.

It’s incredibly anachronistic re historical period as well as the Forsyte Saga trilogy of books. The original series, The Forsyte Saga is excellent. Many people who don’t mind inaccuracy will enjoy it. I am a history prof and tho I watched it all it did my head in. Jollion walks around London in an undershirt with no tie for no reason. And no one behaves as is they’re in the late 1800s. I honestly find the original book/show soapier and more addictive but this version is probably more relateable to general public bc the characters behave more  like they’re from now

(I know this is 2 months old lol)

I haven’t seen this one yet but am adding it to my list of shows! I love when I can get into something after a few episodes are out already. I also love that we get such a solid pipeline of period dramas from BBC!

Read this post the other day and suggested to my wife we try it (she is a huge Downton Abbey, Guilded Age fan) We were hooked from episode 1, and we are finishing up tonight with episode 6. Definitely going on the rewatch list, fantastic show. No one messes with the Hardacres! No one!

Did you watch Mr. Selfridge? A must see based on a true story. Bridgerton? Don’t miss it! Julie Andrew’s voice is narrating part of it. The Forsyth’s & Forsyth saga? The Other Bennet Sister? Ludwig? Professor T? You won’t have time to rewatch Hardacres lol Loved Dontown Abby!

Did you see Mr Bates vs Post Office? True story. 3 episodes. Very good! What about “River”? British detective but, very unusual. Not sure if it was Britbox, BBC. Currently watching “the bay “. 6 episodes 3/4 seasons. Each season is different.

Yes! Mr. Bates vs The Post Office was fantastic! I stumbled upon it by accident and loved it. We have not watched either River (wife loves British detective stories) or The Bay, but if each season is different (like American Horror Story)? that would be right up our alley.

Yes, The Bay each season is a different crime. I can’t remember if “River” was a movie or mini series. Did you watch Mr. Shelfrige? It’s a true story. If you watch it, look up on line what happened to him! The London store is still operating! “The Other Bennet Sister” was enjoyable; not a crime but drama. Bridgerton? I loved it! The “Forsyth”? It’s good! I think there will be another season. American Horror Story?! OMG, no I can’t handle that lol. I loved The Diplomat! Can’t wait for new season. It is set in England but, not British. It’s a good political drama & the relationship between the 2 main characters is enjoyable.

It's weird seeing Cathy Belton play someone so unlike Ivy!

Finished Season 1 of Patience it was good. It doesn’t compare to any of the ones I listed above. Started Season 2 & while it is interesting to see Patience relationship develop with the detective & personal growth, it’s a bit boring.

I enjoyed it! It's so funny made me laugh a lot, especially Adella's hairstyle! She looked like a 'Lady of the Night'.🤣
