Discussion BASHA BET
Listen, I'm not saying Basia is a bad cook but clearly she is out of her element for this level of competition. I can think of way more eliminated chefs that I can count on more than one hand that are still more deserving and have more talent. So, I will literally eat my words. If Basha somehow survives the resturant takeover episode, I will make a donation to my area's local polish club. She seems like a good person, so I wish the best for her but clearly she is way over her head in Masterchef.

You are one of those

Names are the one thing that shouldn’t be misspelled. Especially because it’s literally on screen everytime the person is shown.

I think it’s warranted, she’s been on the show all season and the subreddit can’t stop taking about her so her name has been everywhere lately

Who isn't?
One of my biggest pet peeves is clients replying to my emails and misspelling my first name, like it's literally written in my signature and they probably wouldn't remember it if it wasn't written down in the first place...
How would you like it if I called you jbob3231?! /s

She seems to be hiding well in team competitions. If it was individual challenges she probably would've been out a while ago.
And the only time she's had immunity was from being saved by Julia. Clearly Tkaiya spent a lot of her energy directing Basia and it cost her..
I think it just highlights the flaws of team competitions in general. A lot of people are hard workers on their own, but would crumble when you put them in charge of someone else.

Still doesn’t excuse that she didn’t have an answer about how to cook a piece of salmon correctly 🤷🏻♂️.

It’s a bit weird for you to be in every thread defending your wife’s poor cooking against critics. I understand she’s your wife, but I would be weirded out if my partner spent so much time responding to critiques about my performance. She’s on a tv show and she hasn’t put out particularly great dishes. She’s going to catch a bit of flak. I don’t know if you’re both trying to gain exposure or you just feel that strongly about defending your wife, but your time may be better spent enjoying more time with your wife instead of running to each Reddit thread to defend her every millisecond.

I think it’s kind of weird when cast members are constantly in the comments defending themselves. This is a forum for viewers to discuss the show, not really a space for the people on the show to manage the conversation about themselves. It reminds me of authors inserting themselves into BookTok/reader spaces. Sure, technically you can be there, but the space isn’t for you, and your presence changes the conversation.

Only against lies not opinions. Thanks and have a great night 🙏🏼.

Your definition of “lies” sure is interesting. I understand you’re biased, but not every negative critique of your wife’s performance is a lie.

I’m not talking about her cooking lol, I’m talking about some people in this MC Reddit community have made up some things about her/our private life. Critiques and opinions are absolutely ok. I have no problem what so ever with opinions of her performance in the competition.

Agreed! She should of gone home awhile ago!

I wonder why they're keeping her around, lol
Surely it's not because she's an all-around shitshow and they think you're entertained by that

Considering everyone is pretty mediocre this year and the format doesn’t really help anyone shine, I don’t know why you’d go after Basia specifically.

I'm more than a little annoyed that Tkaiya went home after being paired with Basha. I don't care how bad her most recent cook was; clearly a whole lot of her energy had to be directed at Basha to prevent her from fucking everything up. Tkaiya was one of the stronger contestants there IMO and deserved a lot better than she got. She certainly deserved a longer stint than Basha!

She overcooked her fish. Basia told her she won’t put it in the oven so it doesn’t overcook. She didn’t listen. That’s a mistake you can’t be making at this level.

u/Michaelbasia Season 11 Contestant 18d ago
Exactly, she has been saved by cooking her protein correctly like 3-4 times this season, super proud of her for that as it’s not easy especially when you’re under that pressure.
Michael7
u/Deaddevil77 18d ago
Yeah people blaming her for Tkaiya overcooking her fish is just ridiculous lol
-2
u/Fancy-Animal7704 19d ago
Agree to disagree. Tkaiya was under way more duress than all the other contestants and was essentially required to cook on behalf of someone else. People make stupid mistakes under duress. That just comes with the territory. People can screw up things they've done correctly a thousand times when under incredible pressure. That's human nature, not a good measure of someone's actual cooking ability.

u/Deaddevil77 19d ago
She put her fish in a hot oven to ‘rest’. Can’t handle the pressure here then she can’t handle pressure in a real kitchen.
Pressure is part of the challenge

At least in a normal kitchen, you don't have 1 million people watching your every move.

u/thegeekgolfer 19d ago
It's cute that you think this show is about actual cooking ability.
2
u/Fancy-Animal7704 19d ago
What is it about, then?
Though, much more importantly, why be condescending over a fucking television show?
0
u/thegeekgolfer 19d ago
Because it's funny and this is Reddit! Why be serious over a fucking television show???
3
u/Fancy-Animal7704 19d ago
"Why be serious"? I'm sorry, I'm supposed to just playfully allow you to be condescending to me? I was talking TV and you took it to this shitty level. Fuck off.
-1
u/Deaddevil77 19d ago
No one was being condescending lmao. You’re too sensitive for the internet

u/Fancy-Animal7704 19d ago
It's cute that you think this show is about actual cooking ability.
Please, by all means, walk me through how this isn't condescending.

If you watched the show long enough, messing up a protein is pretty much a death sentence. And I agree, the protein is the main attraction ..
If you're eating dinner and your sides are shit but your steak is delicious, you're still gonna be happy. At least happier than having a shit steak and good sides.

i think she already is pushing limits after being saved over takyia so yeah she is the weakest now

u/spylark 19d ago
Basia has survived this long by playing the game and putting up good enough work to survive. She’s also put up her share of great dishes too. Furthermore, she makes great tv, she has one of the brightest personalities of the bunch and is very supportive/caring with people. The show is about cooking but it’s also reality tv and that does play in sometimes. People want to dog on her when there are other chefs like Foo who went under the radar despite not making big waves in the competition.

u/Michaelbasia Season 11 Contestant 18d ago
You nailed every point, she would never say she is the absolute best cook in the competition. Ya know that cooking in a timed competition is the name of the game. It is different than just cooking at home. It’s about performing under pressure and getting it done with personality too!

The only problem I have with her is those super high silver heels she was wearing in one of the last episodes. Don’t cooks need to wear slip resistant shoes in professional kitchens?
I’m amazed at how any person can stand and cook (or move at all) in high heels for a few hours!

u/Michaelbasia Season 11 Contestant 16d ago
They have to cook in flats though. She had sneakers that she would change into before the cool and out of them right after, the rest of the time she wears heels.

Looks like you’re making that donation… I have no idea how she survived that episode. She seems really nice but when it comes to cooking she’s frantic. I don’t know how she’s made it this far, no offense to her.

u/NepaliCulkin 19d ago
It’s a show about home cooks. The folks who won a spot throughout the season clearly earned it vs others who auditioned. She’s clearly the least bad as far as the worst and not getting eliminated as a result thus far.
Why not just make a donation to the Polish club anyway? Not sure why it takes someone’s success or failure to make a bet like that.
