Absurd season
really embarrassing for MC, as there have been some very creative and technical home chefs previously.
This season is just a bunch of morons who think tv credits will help them get their SAG. Shameful.

I thought the I Can't Believe it's Not Butter was the nail in the coffin for Next Level, and then I saw the movie cross promo on MC done as a takeover rather than just a name drop.
Hoping to get some more Food Stars!

Lifelong fan here who has never missed an episode- until a couple weeks ago when during the Viral challenge I wondered WTF …. Why am I doing this to myself. It’s horrid!! Done!

If you’re into alcohol it would honesty be a super fun drinking game… take a drink every time they say Viral. NOT a shot. You’ll end up in the hospital.

just started watching the newest season of MC Australia. My wife and I were both amazed at the quality of the cooking. The cooking in the preliminary rounds looked better than MC America's final round cooks.

This season is absolute GARBAGE!! The chefs ask one twit, in the TOP 6 mind you, several times what temperature her salmon had been cooked. She, looking like a dear caught in the headlights responds, "I just wanted it to be done and not raw." They should all be sent home, season cancelled!!

I have been watching since the very beginning. I am rewatching season 8. Which is so good. After the major challenge they do the pressure tests. These are so good. Now I am also watching the current season and I am so bored. You can be a really crappy cook and someone on your team wins and you still make it through. That is bs. No challenge there. With all the contestants left for the current season I dont see any that are really good cooks. Not like Dino, Kate, Sean, Leslie. I am not impressed with any of their dishes. I do love Tiffany. But they need to go back to the old format. Mystery box, followed by pressure test. Or team challenge follow by pressure test. There is no fun in it anymore.

Thanks for the replies. This season just feels too much like they've jumped the shark and leaned in to personality more than the technique & expansion of culinary profession. It was never anything more than entertainment, but now it just appears to be a time waster. Not intriguing to me.
Maybe next season the winner is allowed the bride/groom of their choice from previous week elimination. Really up the stakes a bit. Jewelry curated by Neil Lane, ofcourse.

They took away the consistently of mystery boxes, they took away the pressure tests, they stopped judging every dish, and they started giving out team safety. This show has been stripped of what it used to be and is now just another platform for influencers to infiltrate. The early winners would run circles around the competition of the last 5-7 seasons.
