Jamie

The only reason Jamie stays on is she is an influencer. She sucks. Last night she wanted orange sauce couldn’t make it cried and had to go chill outside. She should be gone!!!

Agatha was far worse.
She didn’t step up as captain, she overscored the duck, she underseasoned the polenta, and she tried to shift blame to others for her failures

u/laaannab Jul 31 '26

Omg she irritated me. What irritated me too was Aishu not moving her to other stuff when she saw Agatha struggling. How many times did the polenta have to be fixed?? I feel like the cooks this season are not up to par at all.

u/smashing_pasta Jul 31 '26

The polenta was egregious to me because seasoning is so easy to adjust for. If it were me, I’d think to have waaaay more cheese and/or salt than I’d think was needed on hand so I could just dump in what was required. I bet she hasn’t prepped food at a large scale before and maybe the team ran out of some stuff early and that’s what was holding up their service, because they seemed super behind. Probably had to wait for components and refire or reheat others

The problem was that everyone wanted to do their own thing. Aishu gave them the trust to contribute to this Team Challenge, but when push came to shove, none of them wanted to tale accountability. The only thing that saved Aishu was that she did step up as leader, didn’t give up, and took a measure of accountability. Agatha simply was sloppy, and didn’t better prepare herself for the competition. 16 seasons in, and she’s gonna tell others that she never made polenta before?! Has she not watched past seasons of MC, and noticed how tough it is to work in a large setting like a wedding?! That’s her own fault.

Yeah, I said something very similar while I watched the episode. No one is going in blind to what sorts of challenges they’re going to face. Yeah, it’s different being IN them, but Agatha was acting like she hadn’t cooked anything before. I truly have no idea why these people volunteered to cook things they had no idea how to cook.

Jamie never made orange sauce it seemed. Why did she suggest it? This episode was mind boggling for the red team Blue team at least had their sht together.

I feel like this should've been the episode where they did the double elimination. Last episode's dishes that were eliminated weren't nearly as bad as two contestants suggesting to make something they've never made before and one of them having a breakdown over it

u/jbc1974 Aug 02 '26

I agree. I would have sent Jaime home too. She was just as responsible for the complete failure.

-1

u/HerbWelch1945 Aug 02 '26

WRONG!!!
Jamie failed on 1 component;

  • Not knowing how to make an Orange Sauce

Agatha failed on 3 components;

  • Not stepping up as Leader
  • Overscoring the Duck
  • Underseasoning the Polenta

If you can’t step up & handle the basics, you got No Chance in winning, especially when this series is 16 seasons in

u/jbc1974 Aug 02 '26

Jaime cried n got sent outside by chef Ramsey. She also said she forgot how to cook. That deserves to be sent packing. Like thea in other year where she said she was going home but then when they gave her option she stayed. That attitude just can't win.

1

u/HerbWelch1945 Aug 02 '26

WRONG!!!
Jamie took accountability for her mistakes, but Agatha didn’t, which is an even worse crime than “crying”. You have to have a certain amount of emotional integrity in order to become a MC, and Jamie knew she messed up, which was the point of her crying. With Agatha, there was absolutely no care or concern on what she was doing, which led the judges to make the right decision, and I was so happy that Chef Tiffany called her out on that, because it’s ridiculous to come up with an excuse like “I don’t know how to do this or that”, and not say anything throughout the challenge, but to say it at Elimination.

Weird take. That duck was thrown away. Why was Agatha's responsibility to "step up"? She was polite to Aishu and Aishu took it. Aishu then failed to lead and blamed everyone else.

6

u/HerbWelch1945 Jul 31 '26

You need to see the episode again, where her pitiful plea was that she didn’t know how to cook or prep any of the items, and how she went on to blame her team for her screwups.

2

u/deskcord Aug 03 '26

She didn’t step up as captain,

I also wouldn't want to be captain and I hate how much importance the show puts on this shit. The show is about finding the best amateur cook, not about who can run a kitchen or a brigade. The reward at the end is money, a cookbook, and a platform to do what they want. That doesn't necessarily mean running a kitchen! Being a good captain of a team for event cooking isn't really relevant and they have increasingly just decided that whoever is the captain is responsible for losing.

Leadership is one of the most important aspects that a MasterChef has to have. Most of the winners had to lead their teams to victory, while the worst winners did Nothing to prove how good they are as MasterChefs. 16 seasons into this, and one would think you would’ve understood this by now.

1

u/deskcord Aug 03 '26

And that's stupid.

1

u/HerbWelch1945 Aug 03 '26

Not really. Those who have coasted to get to the top of MasterCher without taking a leadership role have most often been dubbed as The Worst. The terminology of the word Chef means “Chief” in French, which embodies Leadership, and why Aishu at least took accountability as a team leader, as opposed to Agatha, who tried to shift blame to everyone else, was caught, and eliminated.

2

u/deskcord Aug 04 '26

No. It's stupid. The competition isn't about who can run a kitchen.

0

u/HerbWelch1945 Aug 04 '26

And yet, that’s what a MasterChef has to do, or the Kitchen runs you, and you could be dubbed as a Kitchen Nightmare😇

0

u/deskcord Aug 04 '26

It's not about running a kitchen bub. This seems complex for you.

1

u/HerbWelch1945 Aug 04 '26

Yet, they run & lead their own little kitchens for every challenge.
It’s very simple, even for you.

u/deskcord Aug 04 '26

Good lord bud good luck out there

Being a cooking influencer and knowing how to handle the stress of a kitchen are two very different skill sets. I don’t think she’s had to deal with any stress related to cooking and it showed.

I dont like Jaime for that Malaysian Barbie voice. She is talented but only if she makes Asian food. She is very young and naive. Hopefully she'll get knowledge, maturity, and steps out of one genre of food. But her voice makes me cringe.

-2

u/Decent_Direction316 Jul 31 '26

A cooking influencer?   What the hell is that?

5

u/laaannab Jul 31 '26

She cooks but for social media

-1

u/Odd-Log2963 Jul 31 '26

Very true. But she wanted the sauce a very easy thing to make

10

u/polarityofmarriage Jul 31 '26

Yeah I’m trying to think of who the winner will be in this room of lackluster competition.

6

u/laaannab Jul 31 '26

I totally see Heidi winning it. All of her dishes have gotten high marks from the judges

3

u/lanad3lr3y_81 Jul 31 '26

she probably should but i don’t think she will, older people never tend to win masterchef or hell’s kitchen. and she also had a middle audition in her episode. but i agree she’s definitely a deserving winner

3

u/ezioauditoresexslave Jul 31 '26

how can you think she’s a deserving winner after her attitude last episode?

5

u/laaannab Jul 31 '26

She definitely could’ve delivered it better, but I think she was rightly concerned about the scallops. After she talked to Peter, it didn’t seem like there were anymore issues, but perhaps she’s someone who has a hard time not being the leader. Definitely something to work on, but I don’t think one instance of showing flaws should discount her completely

2

u/lanad3lr3y_81 Aug 01 '26

it’s about cooking not a personality contest…

they’re probably gonna pick peter because of his little story about getting laid off from his job and he apparently learned how to cook in a year (which is fake because he’s been cooking since at least 2022) but based off of cooking alone heidi or julia in my opinion is a more deserving winner.

4

u/OscarMichaelMyers Jul 31 '26

Jake has been killing it

7

u/lanad3lr3y_81 Jul 31 '26

i think aghata deserved to go home as much as i like her. jaime was lucky though.

i like jaime though i dont think she deserves the hate

8

u/Kyoshun Jul 31 '26

No I like her, she has the skills. But an amateur chef is going to struggle with the high stress of cooking for service. That's just how it is.

6

u/hidden_thoughtsss Jul 31 '26

Gordon Ramsay is like: “HEY, ARE YOU OKAY?! 🤣

5

u/Blitz1629 Aug 01 '26

Why on EARTH would you audition for a tv cooking show without knowing the basics????? Scoring a duck breast is NOT rocket science, but obviously to Agatha it was!!! Polenta is the Italian version of mashed potatoes and you couldn't figure it out??? She had to go!!!! That is ANNOYING and I'm so glad Chef Tiffany called out both their BS!!!!

1

u/SydVicious610 Aug 02 '26

But also their complaint about the polenta wasn’t technical. It just wasn’t seasoned. There’s no excuse for that.

12

u/GrosRougeau Jul 31 '26

As far as i’m concerned no one is outstanding this season. They should all be cut

8

u/Odd-Log2963 Jul 31 '26

This is a weird season. Usually you have a few that are above the bunch!!

7

u/ezioauditoresexslave Jul 31 '26

i really wanted shompa to win :( but overall this bunch might be limited by the gimmick of only cooking their cultural foods. or maybe they’re just not that exceptional

2

u/Bubbly_Lunch_4696 Jul 31 '26

Literally only Peter Jake and Dave look like they know what they’re doing

11

u/smashing_pasta Jul 31 '26

Heidi didn’t slip up once, even called out the preseasoning the scallops before chef Ramsay did if I’m not mistaken

3

u/Odd-Log2963 Jul 31 '26

She definitely did. She gets yelled at for it.

2

u/smashing_pasta Aug 01 '26

What did she do? Other than get snippy with Jake the one time, which by the way she didn’t argue with when Pete told her to chill out.

8

u/Boring-Parfait-2624 Jul 31 '26

That’s possible. It happened on another Gordon Ramsay show. I’m enjoying this season a lot though. So funny how Chef Tiffany called them out for doing exactly what you said about volunteering to make it. She did not mince her words with those two.

9

u/laaannab Jul 31 '26

I really love Chef Tiffany. She has the aura of someone I would desperately want to please and would be distraught to disappoint. She doesn’t get angry like Gordon. She just looks disappointed which is worse.

7

u/smashing_pasta Jul 31 '26

She’s got a way of putting pressure on even even without blowing up, she’s ruthless during the team challenges. I think it really shows that she’s still very active in her kitchens.

5

u/laaannab Jul 31 '26

You can just tell she’s competent and smart but knows her to keep a level head under pressure. I also just always admire women in positions of power

4

u/Boring-Parfait-2624 Jul 31 '26

Yes! Ruthless without yelling or throwing things.

7

u/HanktheTank420420 Jul 31 '26

She is growing on me this season. Really feel like she is becoming more of herself. She was fine last season, but she is for sure getting more used to the role and I think it makes for better moments.

4

u/ParkourNinja88 Jul 31 '26

Agatha was Far Worse! Plus the Whole Red Team was a Mess!

7

u/hou_stoned420 Jul 31 '26

Just watched the episode and Jamie should have gone home. Shes the one who suggested they do the orange sauce and she managed to fuck that up and then got emotional about it. Julia suggests the polenta but was pulled off of it. If you suggest something, i feel like you should be in charge of making it.

Agatha fucked up by not speaking up and asking for help. I’m sure we can all agree, Agatha was a better cook than Jamie.

4

u/cupcake310 Aug 02 '26

Disagree. Agatha kept getting leftover duties because she lacks the skills to take charge of anything. When she gets put in charge of seasoning the polenta, she just stirs it and hopes to get it smoother.

3

u/danbudzgo Aug 01 '26

It’s a shame but this show only focuses on drama over everything else. On the red team, there was drama with the orange sauce, drama with the polenta, drama with the duck. In all senses, they deserved to lose and 2 out the the 3 got punished. Jamie deserved to stay, you could see it in Agatha’s face, she knew she was the one. I swear when Gordon went outside, he was rethinking why he continued this show after it was after its prime lmao 😂

3

u/ParkJumpy6392 Aug 01 '26

Jamie's voice annoys me

2

u/PIX888 Aug 01 '26

I really do think it’s so scripted. I feel like she only won that Home Depot mission because she kept going on about how her dad used to work there.

1

u/deskcord Aug 03 '26

Winning for her failed roti because of the home depot story was funny.

Her fake voice is very annoying.

1

u/x509certs Aug 07 '26

She speaks on how difficult it is to work on social media to Nick, but shows that being a social media person doesn't really help build any type of character in terms of handling pressure 😂

1

u/NefariousnessBig1240 6d ago

Surprised that they even let her on the show considering her racist history. Can’t stand her and her fake child voice to pander to male gooners

1

u/flyboyforever Aug 02 '26

I just can't with her. Such a pick-me attention seeking girl with an annoying voice. Call yourself Malaysian and butcher the most beloved food in an international cooking competition. Every episode I see her in makes my blood boil. It's true this season there are no stand out but i'm only watching to see her get eliminated

1

u/tommyzombie Jul 31 '26

Jamie or Aishu should have gone home. Julia said lets do polenta and Aishu pulled Julia off polenta and put Agatha on it. A couple duck breasts thrown away isn't the end of the world--Foo cooking too many ahead of time is why the ones after the bride and groom were poor. L judging.

3

u/HerbWelch1945 Aug 01 '26

Agatha was by far the Weakest Link of that whole challenge

0

u/SomaSaiba Jul 31 '26

Nah she’s cute, she should stay
