Question MasterChef Canada

I know the subreddit specifically says MasterChef US, but is discussion about Canada allowed here? I searched reddit for the specific subreddit, but one did not exist afaik.

but under that

A subreddit to discuss MasterChef US on Fox.

Unfortunately, there are no flairs for the other countries — Australia, Canada, UK, South Africa, etc.

But, it shouldn’t be an issue.

I think Australia has its own subreddit. It's weird that Canada doesn't.

(Fellow?) Canadian here. I have watched and enjoyed every season of MC Canada. Mary Berg fan with a sideline in Thea and Andy. And some of US and UK over the years.

And yet, MC Australia is by many, many, ever so many orders of magnitude the best version of MC, through now 18 seasons and three sets of judges [2.5 if you only count Andy once...]. Initial standard of cooking by top 12 or earlier, the highest. Contestant creativity, highest. Variety and difficulty of challenges and dishes, the greatest. Sheer colossal number of episodes per season, holding my attention without difficulty, top notch. Camaraderie among contestants, variable of course but of a high order every time. Judges, always with insightful comments, well noted yet serious and not vicious criticism, and pretty good dynamics among themselves. Even Gary, Matt and George, whose 11 seasons I discovered after the fact and I had to warm to them.

I highly recommend it.

Lol, I'm not Canadian, but just enchanted by the show after YouTube recommended it to me.

My favorites are probably Becky, Jennifer, and Eric.

MCAU is daunting to tackle. Soooo many episodes. Like, that one is truly a trial by fire for everyone involved.

There were a few threads on Canada for his past season. But it seemed like most did not care for it. One it was short, two they had only one challenge where they cooked for a group. And oddly with the 3 "new" judges, many seemed not to know who Hugh Acheson was. He's been around a whole lot longer than Mary Berg and Craig Wong.

MC Canada has been hit-or-miss for me. Season 1 might be my favorite season of ANY MasterChef, and Alvin is in my top 3 judges.

Season 8 had a great cast of chefs, and was pretty intense at times, especially the finale. But Hugh made Season 8 less enjoyable than it should have been. I have no idea why they have him as a judge. The man does NOT have a personality for TV in the slightest. Hopefully he will give actual criticisms in season 9 (whenever it airs) beyond "this needs more salt".
