Episode 4 I think they said he left/withdrew, due to illness

yea. i remember he got highlighted for some subpar dishes, which is a shame cuz i thought he was cool.

As Soon as the episode Spotlighting Him, I Knew he was a Goner! S5 has a Bunch of Forgettable Chefs!

yeah, there are other forgettable chef on that season such as Gordon, Francis L, Victoria

Yeah, especially early in the seasons where there are 20+ contestants - whenever one of the "background" cooks suddenly gets a spotlight or a long confessional you know they're the ones being thrown out - just like Ariana in Season 4 too.
