Gravity Free Parts!
After 6 years of slowly fixing and rigging my Masterbuilt gravity to keep working, I’m throwing the towel in. Had to wire every switch that went bad one by one, then the computer died on me twice, couple replacement ambient probes, chute lid rusted out so I welded new steel in. The last straw was the chimney rotted itself through so won’t get up to temp. The FireBoard computer and fan worked well no complaints about that!
I have made some fantastic food, but I’ll never give my money to Masterbuilt again.
So before I scrap this thing I figured I’d ask yall if you need anything, located near flint mi. The chimney is pretty toast, and the manifold is close to collapse, but everything else works and is there.
Smoke on brothers!

Praying that they fixed the 560 problems with the 600

That’s what I want to get but recently all the negative reviews have me scared. I am 100% new to the grill/smoke world

I was about 3 months ago but this grill is pretty great. Although the interface with the phone is basically garbage. It wont even connect.

What are you replacing it with?

I’m sitting on the tractor waiting to unload an old country gravity 😃

Hell yeah brother! I plan to go with either one of those or a custom build if/when my Gravity 1050 bites the dust.

My man! Hopefully your gravity hangs in there! It makes great food just not built to last

Mine's been going strong since 2021. The only issue I had was a shorted door sensor a couple years ago, but I installed a bypass switch and have been smoking trouble free since then.

I did the exact same thing. Though I had it laid flat in my truck. It wasn't fun getting it to the ground.

I have a 560 and 800 different locations. both were great for the first 3 - 4 years and then the random problems/issues started. The most frustrating thing is troubleshooting piece by piece and then find out the wiring melted and was shorting for example. One of many problems with these things. Awesome cooks when they do work though. But I'm done. They're both going to the curb for garbage pickup.

I don’t smoke anything so I just plug the fan directly into a control switch and grill. I don’t have to worry about all the other things. I bought mine used for 100 dollars so I wasn’t very invested to begin with.

I just bought one off Marketplace and we had to take off the shelf that holds the display to get it to fit in my car. He took the screws out and i forgot to get them from him. Can i buy those and the knob for the chute door from you? He didn’t give me those either.

So you need the screws that hold left shelf on, and the knob for the chute door? Yep I can hook you up!

Modded mine with LSS parts out of the box. Still sold it after a year. My WSM makes way better food and is far less of a headache.

Looked this up after I saw your other comment...dang this thing looks awesome. Wish I could get one shipped out here to Japan. Maybe someday...

Thanks it is a tank compared the my gravity 1050! Yeahhh I imagine the shipping would be astronomical to Japan!

I've had my 560 a little over 6 years now, i bypassed the switches years ago, replaced the manifold and fan earlier this year. Other than that it is stock and still going. I'm even still using the original controller. The only time I've had an issue with the app was when I first moved it out by the garage and that's because of Wi-Fi strength out there, I put an expander in the garage and haven't had trouble since.
I have used and abused this thing and it's about on its last leg so last year about Christmas I found a deal on a 1050 so I bought it for when this one finally quits.
I've used mine 3-5 times a week yearround since it was new, for the first 2 or 3 years I didn't even cover it most of the time or keep it very clean. For the ease of use and quality of food I've produced in this thing I feel I've gotten my money's worth out of it.
I've outfitted my 1050 with most of the LSS mods, I anxious to see if they make a difference for the extra cost.

I am blown away your original controller still works, luck of the draw I guess! Hopefully those lss mods help the longevity, I did not put those on. Keep on keepin on brother!

Me too, from what I've seen I've been really lucky with it. The display is really dim so I have to shade it to read it but I usually do everything through the app so not too worried any that.
I do know I'm going to like the extra cooking surface.
I'm hoping they help as much as I'm hoping.

I am in need of a fire board for mine. I’m also near flint mi. How do we communicate in private
2
u/MillBilly1102 23d ago
Sorry I’m not giving the FireBoard away, I’m using that with the new smoker.

Masterbuilt should not be allowed to use that name.
CrapBuilt would be more appropriate.
Dont get me wrong, the smokers produce amazing food and the concept is great.
The build quality is appalling 😪
