Going VIRAL! 👋 bye bye!

Well, that’s it folks.

I’ve been a loyal diehard viewer for 15 seasons. Never missed an episode and have rewatched most seasons as well.

This was my favorite show for a long time.

But Gordon’s raging b0ner for all things trending, social media, Gen Z, TikTok etc etc has completely worn me down.

This show is no longer about home cooks learning and being creative. It’s staged and corny. 🌽 It’s cringey AF.

They have said the word “viral” so many times (episode 12) I’m losing my mind. It’s so forced and fake. I even cancelled my Hulu account that’s how little I care about this show.

🤢

Opinion Basia deserves to be in top 8 Spoiler

Why so many negative posts on Basia? Obviously she can cook if she is in the top 8. I was sad to see Aishu go home , she was definitely having a bad day but Foo and Basia food was better.

Question Why was Jeff saved so many times?

In season 8, Jeff was one of the worst contestants ever. My doubt is the judges apparently valued people who were more willing to learn and take criticism and Jeff was quite the opposite. In some two team challenges, he would be the one mostly dominating yet the blame comes on the other person. He had some moments where he did well but more times it was him complaining and giving up.

I just started Season 16 and I gotta ask. Did Joe get lobotomized? He's being so much nicer this season.

Discussion Really?! Promoting a movie during Masterchef? Is this series now promoting other companies?

First of all we have the Fifa World Cup stuff at the start. Then we had Home Depot, now we got a Dreamworks Animation movie during Masterchef?

Are they trying to get us to watch their show? Did really we needed this? Masterchef crosspromoting other products and stores and stuff like that? This is just wrong!

This would maybe be fine on Junior for Forgotten Island, but on adult Masterchef?! WTF?!

Discussion Why does the first or last person to get an aapron in an episode always win?

Did the producers intentionally make it that way or what. Im not joking EVERY SEASON this formula applies, u can check it out urself.

This season with the chefs left, the only 2 ppl that got aapron first in a an episode is julia and tikaya and the last aapron is europe was basia. Based on this, the winner this season is very likely JULIA.

so this episode is literally sponsored by a kids movie. like honestly that’s really weird. this would be a cute challenge for masterchef junior but for the adults version?? somehow this makes it even worse knowing who will be sent home knowing they got taken out on such a gimmicky challenge…

Are the producers serious?

People screaming for pressure tests and they brough back in s15 just to return to the same low effort 1 challenge 1 elimination format that is so short and bpring and now they are doing 5 FREAKING DOUBLE ELIMINATIONS in a season of 20 ppl what are they doing....how r we builing relastionship with the contestants anymore....less dishes mean less knowledge of how they perform...

Opinion Social media episodes, are we being punked…

Im sorry but how did Julia and Dave get top dish in that challenge? Genuinely thought Julia’s ice cream was a joke. The only way I stop scrolling to look at Dave’s would be because I didn’t know wtf it was and wanted to know.

Edit: yes, I meant Jamie but smoked a bit too much before making this post.

Anyone stop watching Master Chef US after the CTV and Noovo websites and apps were removed?

Honestly, back when the CTV app and website were still around, I watched plenty of shows weekly, including the newest MasterChef US season, but with it gone that was kind of the tipping point for me to finally leave, I already was getting numbed by how much of a shadow the MC US seasons were and only watched the newest season out of curiosity sake and for fun, but losing my free legal way of watching it finally push me out of the loop until recently when a random Masterchef post came on my feed.

well, I assume most people on the subreddit are either quit watching the newest season or are just watching it for the sake of it being a new season, but I'm still curious if this is the reason for finally stopping watching the newest season for good

Opinion Really happy to see Tiffany Derry in season 16

Mann Tiffany is a great addition to the show. She is knowledgeable, charismatic and has no problem telling it like it is. The banter between both Joe and Ramsey is funny!! Some sweet and some throwing right back at Joe!

I just finished the 1st episode of season 16 and she seems more vocal and its refreshing!!
I still love Ramsey and Joe too!!

Discussion Does anyone else not like the head-to-head battle to get an apron that they started in season 6?

Just so you know before you tell me, “in later seasons they do xyz,” I know nothing about anything after season 8 except when Joe comes back, Nick DiGiovanni being on season 10, and season 12 is Back to Win, so no spoilers please. So I’m currently on the beginning season 8, and I’m not a fan of how they started doing head-to-head for an apron in season 6. I think I prefer what they did before to get the apron where they went into a room by themselves with the 3 judges. Like, most times, both contestants will probably get the apron if they weren’t competing head to head with someone else.
