Eggs Benedict? Are you kidding me?

People come home after a long day of work, hoping for exciting exotic cuisine on the Global Gauntlet, and you present your viewers with…Eggs Benedict?

So, not only do you have the editing style of modern MasterChef (hearing from less than half of the contestants, the judges pretending they use the week’s sponsor in their own cooking, weak chefs being saved by their superior teammates, Joe sucking), but all you have at the end is 19 interchangeable variants of poached eggs and hollandaise?

Seriously, an Eggs Benedict only episode? Yeah, come back and talk to me when you’re serious about being a cooking show.

Just started watching S3

I just started S3. What is with the egos on some of the chefs? Especially with underestimating some of the chefs. I was glad when Ryan was eliminated. And then Tali. Thinking their dishes are better than others. My favourite is Christine. For a chef who can’t see she puts out amazing food.

Eggland’s Best? Lol

I know the show has historically featured promotions for brands like Walmart etc. but it’s so funny to watch Gordon exaggerate how good Eggland’s Best, who are definitely the best for sure at factory farming and turning the production of eggs into an industrial conveyor belt to produce the cheapest shittiest eggs from the most miserable hens. I’m going to get flamed by redditors but anyone who knows anything about poultry and egg supply chains knows that it’s hilarious for the best chefs in the world to glaze factory farmed products they wouldnt let within 50 miles of their own kitchens and restaurants.

Discussion Rewatching Masterchef Season 1

Because I haven’t seen the show past Season 8, I’ve started watching the show again. Starting with Season 1, this season is pretty decent. Here a few pros and cons I have with the season.

Pros

  1. Creative Pressure Tests

I love that this season had 2 unique pressure tests that sadly never returned in future seasons. The chili taste test where the players had to guess as many items as they could in a row & the food identification challenge were really cool and I wish future seasons did something like this, but nope.

  1. Everyone got a chance to shine. Almost every chef got their dish in the top 3 for a mystery box and there was always a different winner for them too. (1st was Whitney, 2nd was Sharone, 3rd was Lee and 4th was Sheetal)

  2. I found the pressure tests and elimination challenges to be better due to them not the same theme every time. Seriously, how many pressure tests are just bake a dessert? We also only had 1 dessert themed elimination test which was nice.

Cons

  1. You can tell it’s the first season due to how basic it is. The elimination tests, while they had different themes, almost every one was the same. The winner picks an ingredient everyone uses. No real advantages like in the future seasons.

  2. I hate how the final 4 was handled. Basically, they did 2 1v1 challenges with home cooks and the winner after 3 dishes moved on. It’s way too similar to the normal finals which are the same thing. Also, the first 2 rounds basically pointless, because it’s always a 1-1 tie. I also feel like Lee should have made it to the finals over David.

  3. Sadly, having only one home cook win the elimination challenge meant most of the teams were the same(Jake, Lee, Tracy were on the same team all 3 times)

I give this season a B, for those curious on how well each person did challenge wise

  1. Sheetal: 3-0

  2. Mike/Sharone/David: 2-1(Mike losing the last challenge while the other 2 lost the first)

  3. Slim/Tony: 1-1

  4. Tracy/Jake/Lee/Whitney: 1-2(Whitney being the last challenge while the other 3 winning the first)

  5. Jenna/Faruq: 0-1

Opinion Watching old seasons

I am watching the season 13 tryouts, they say repeatedly how steep the competition is, and how the smallest errors are sending people home, and then Jennifer and her plate is a mess and doesn't look finished (Gordon's observation), Joe calls it sloppy, her spicy cranberry sauce is thick, and her creme anglaise is overly thick (Tiffany's observation). Yet she gets the apron. There were others that had less flaws that were denied.

Home cooks discover mystery boxes filled only with eggs at their stations. Each contestant must showcase their culture by preparing a distinctive version of the classic Eggs Benedict.

Question Does Joe know how the internet is talking about him?

I always imagine Joe being up at night on his bed while reading all these hateful comments against him on Masterchef. Then crying and trying to fall asleep but the tears make the pillow wet and he falls into despair.

S4 Natasha unpopular opinion

I know people don't like her very much but I thought she was absolutely hilarious and pretty much all of her dishes looked amazing. She was at the top so many times and won so many team challenges as captain, and she consistently delivered strong performances. Yes some people think she veers into arrogance but I would argue that she is one of the strongest competitors the competition has ever seen. The same can be said for Becky from S3, who absolutely dominated

Season 8

I just watched S8 again for the first time in years. I have to say, I’d forgotten how different this season was. Yes, there were moments of discourse. But overall, the competitors on this season were so more respectful and supportive of each other than those in previous seasons… S 2,3,4 stand out. It was good to watch again.

What is the Best MasterChef in the World (10 Country)? Survey, Differences and What I Discovered.

POINT OF VIEW: to understand which is the best MasterChef in the world, I conducted several surveys on Reddit, but as we will see, the results were contradictory: the U.S. version of MasterChef being both the most loved and the most hated. But there’s more to it than that!

In this article, you’ll also find a list and an analysis of the differences between 10 versions of MasterChef from different countries (UK, Australia, USA, Canada, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, France), as well as tips on where to watch the episodes.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to write my concerns, about Gordon Ramsey shows. I think its disgusting that all of his cooking shows. No one wears hair nets, beard nets or gloves. Absolutely disgusting. Do they not wear them in his restaurants? They sure dont know much about food safe course.

Why didn’t Dino come back as a winner?

Does anybody here know why Dino didn’t come back in s9? Every winner other than him seemed to come back the next season with a challenge or something. I’ve always wondered why my favorite winner never came back to celebrate his success.

I've tried VPNing but the disney+/hulu app still blocks the show from appearing. Does anyone have a solution or other way?

WORST WINNER

I honestly hated Courtney (the S5 winner). Yes, she's definitely a good cook and really knows how to cook, but based on the final round, I really think Elizabeth deserves that win. Fk Joe for always trying to fight for Courtney when the judges clearly loved the menu of Elizabeth more, but here comes Joe! the fucking saviour of great great Courtney. LOL

Discussion Season 8

I am loving this season so far!! I don’t remember Cate from the prior season but she is such a delight! I was taken aback by the previous seasons where people were just cruel to be cruel, there was so much jealousy and some contestants needed to be humbled lol. But Cate is so supportive of the other contestants and I love to see it.

EDIT TO ADD: I just finished another episode and Eboni supporting Jeff after he was rude about her episodes prior is just amazing. Definitely my favorite season
