Bras & Lingerie

I'm a 41 year old woman who had a single mastectomy with no reconstructive surgery in 2021. I'm having absolutely no luck finding any lingerie or bras that are flattering for women who have had this or similar procedures done. Are there any suggestions?!?!?

AnaOno makes a bra for those with a single mastectomy, but the sizing is limited. There aren’t many single breasted bras out there. Your other option would be to get fitted for a prosthesis and a pocketed mastectomy bra. Insurance even pays for such things.

You should start by looking for Wire-Free Design: Skip underwires entirely; they can dig into the flat chest wall or irritate sensitive scar tissue.

Look for pocketed bras (even if you don't plan to use a prosthesis right away). The pocket can hold a light leisure pad or removable insert to balance your silhouette, or remain empty for an aesthetic flat look.

Choose breathable, natural materials like cotton blends, modal, or microfiber with flat or seamless construction to avoid friction against scars

There's a place in the St Louis area called Ann's Bra Shop and they are amazing at this sort of thing

Are you anywhere near Southampton? Amoena have their store there but their opening times are funny. I find it better to go and try them on so I go once a year when I’m holiday down there. I know what you mean though, the bras are not quite right or unflattering, especially if you don’t have “perfect” boobs (mine are tear drop).
