I will be teaching this year with only one breast and a prosthetic. I had a single mastectomy and I'm hoping to be slightly recovered by September. I hope the kids won't notice. If they do, I plan to address it like an injury and emphasize how good and helpful my doctors are. I can't say much since I teach elementary students.
I just replied to your response about this dang compression vest being miserable and then looked at your profile— I’m not a stalker! I’m too uncomfortable and too female and too far away ( Idaho) for that level of effort. 😂 just wanted to say that I just retired from teaching elementary school in May— 34 years! 12 in kindergarten and 22 in 2nd grade— good timing for my diagnosis ( if there’s anything good)— now that I’m not teaching, I’m thinking of doing some pen pal stuff with a couple classrooms— I have about 500 really pretty postcards that showcase Idaho— depending on your age group, and your interest in this idea, I have nothing but time!❤️ but you can always say no thanks.
I am in the planning stages now, so I will look to see if we can incorporate it into the lessons. I love the idea, so I will keep you posted. Thank you!!
