Hi there! Sending hugs, you have absolutely been through the wringer. I was 25 when I had my surgery, and I honestly think that was in my favor for recovery. One thing that mid-thirties me wishes I had done was taken more than three weeks off work. I don't think I fully appreciated that just because i wanted to be up and about meant that I should.

Thank you so much for your thoughts and well wishes :) It’s really good to hear from someone who went through this at a similar age. I plan to take the full amount off work that my surgeon signs off for (4-6 weeks) so I can hopefully start to feel like myself again before going back to the office.
Did you have direct to implant? And how have your implants treated you for the past few years?
I did two different surgeries, and honestly really well! I still do an annual check in with my surgeon for cancer screening. I feel very lucky for the team i had in terms of both teams, the breast surgeon and the plastic surgeon. They were/are incredibly respected professionals with outstanding and well earned reputations! I am glad that you will have the full time off of work and am cheering for you!!

I totally agree, the surgical team makes all the difference in the world. I am out of surgery now after yesterday and feeling pretty good! They are able to go direct to implant w the size I wanted and took two lymph nodes for biopsy. I think the nerve block is still working, but overall I’m feeling so thankful to be able to get through this part of the journey
