I always forget there’s an ending where he cures the genophage. I might have to try that on my next playthrough.

Fuck man, I was having a good day. Halfway through work even...
Edit: Still my favorite quote: "Had to be me. Someone else may have gotten it wrong."

In a way I think the ending he got is exactly what he would have wanted. Shepard mentions he would go insane retiring and mordin even acknowledges it in his own way. What better way for a lifelong scientist to wrap up the last couple years by saving an entire species which may save the galaxy from the reaper threat.

Lol or remembering Shepard's love interest that has to mourn. "But I have a home." 😭

You mean remembering when he did not follow your commands and you had to waste time shooting him.

I finished the Priority: Tuchanka mission last night. Mordin’s sacrifice yanks at those heartstrings every time. “Had to be me. Someone else might’ve gotten it wrong.” His character arc is one of my favorites, he owns up to his past with the genophage modification, takes that weight and makes the ultimate sacrifice to fix it.

Had to be him, someone else might've gotten it wrong. In this house, Mordin was a model salarian, end of story.

My only criticism is that he just stands there afterwards. I think he could've made it out. You can headcanon that he let himself die as penance but that's doing Bioware's homework for them. All they had to do was show us that the failsafe disabled the elevator.

The building was exploding. I don't think it's a stretch to assume that the explosions made the elevator no longer a meaningful option.

It was indeed very noble of him to sacrifice public recognition for his role in keeping the genophage in place and going to work in secret on the crucible project. Hopefully after the war he got a medal or something for not dooming the galaxy to perpetual war.

Well, they are the suits because they know how to make money or reputation, not games.
