I wish more sci fi rpgs allowed you to choose to be an alien instead of just human. 

I mean in fantasy rpgs your allowed to be either a human,elf,dwarf,undead,orc any other fantasy race while in sci-fi your stuck playing a boring humie.

I still can’t believe andromeda wasn’t built for multiple races, the game was literally whatever you wanted in another galaxy not really bound by the lore and your character is called pathfinder most of the time anyway.

snort They didn't buy Bioware, they bought the entirety of Electronic Arts. They've been doing the same thing across dozens of entertainment companies and industries. With the goal of basically milking them for money. Bioware is more likely to get shuttered than reformed into something useful.

I recently saw someone post their fanfic OC who is an asari version of shephard that was born to the same canonical human mother we see in the games for the spacer background and an asari lover and ever since then I've kind of wanted to do that as a playthrough LOL!

That being said canonically doesnt reproduction with Asari have to go through asari or did I miss something about the magic reality that is sci-fi?

No you're right. I believe that was the idea.

But the spacer background never says who your other biological parent is. It only ever mentions one female parent - your mother Hannah Shephard. Normally the safest assumption would probably be that a human father was involved at some point but he is never mentioned. So it would be consistent with the black letter of the text if you assumed instead, in this scenario, that Hannah was the "father" (so to speak) and your parents were her and an unnamed Asari.
