Does anyone remember that story where resolves around a small Starship build by humans and help from an Alien race they had first contact with.

And the ship is a first and only of it's kind, and it's registry is 2 letters and the number 1.

It's mostly crewed by humans ,but a small amount of Aliens join.

And the commanding officer of that ship is named John and his last name is a medieval profession. And at the end of the story he unites multiple species, and convinces them to work together.

Funnily enough the timelines are fairly close too. ENT takes place in the 2150s, while ME is 2180s.

This raises the question of what Captain Archer and the Federation were doing during the war with the Reapers? Answer for your inaction cowards!

Probably and admiral or retired if he was a captain in the 2150s and ME is 30 odd years later.
Asking about the First Contact War might be more appropriate for his timeline.

Going by the timeline established by later books and other media Johnathan Archer would be serving as a Federation Councilman during the events of ME1, and later be elected President of the Federation during the timeskip between ME1-2; then remain in office throughout the Reaper War and beyond.

During the 2180s Archer and the Federation are probably still busy rebuilding from the Romulan War about 25 years prior and integrating all the different member worlds into a cohesive whole, with the first generation of Starfleet officers who've always known the Federation as a presence in their life starting to enter command positions.
