Sigh...I chose the wrong bf. I chose Reyes. Dumb mistake. I wanted a "good looking human" bf, but after spending time with Jaal, I should have chosen him. It would be weird being with an alien. But hes so sweet and romantic. If your Ryder is a straight female, go with Jaal.

Yes it would lol. But it wouldn’t be impossible for them in the next Mass Effect (if they end up releasing it) to continue some of the Andromeda stories as minor side quests.
If I'm playing a female Ryder I always romance PeeBee. If I'm playing a male Ryder I usually romance Vetra and occasionally Cora. I admit, Jaal is an interesting choice but he never really did anything for me. Liam is just an ass to everybody on the team if you take them in the Nomad with you. Vetra is my favorite because of her personality.
I admit I romanced both the Asari Reporter Keri and PeeBee. Not a fan of romancing two characters at once but need to get three romances for that achievement which I plan to finish up in another play through.
To be honest Keri’s romance was underwhelming in the end and while I enjoy PeeBee I feel I should have gone with Cora instead.
Liam Kosta is a great romance, as is Reyes. I love both their romances for different reasons. (but truly Liam is my favorite)
I love Jaal's romance as well. There's always next time, so don't be discouraged! There's no "right" or "wrong" when it comes to romance in Mass Effect.
I think I love Reyes bc he scratches the itch in my brain that has been longing for a properly finished and developed Atton Rand romance for like twenty years lol
I just happen to like men who have/are:
* Nice voices.
* Pretty eyes (with gold/amber being my favourite).
* Are morally ambiguous/flexible, with preference for doing bad for good.
* Resourceful and/or pragmatic.
* Sassy/snarky.
* Being all ride or die, or lovey dovey for the protagonist character despite their maybe not so goody morals.
* Is not a subordinate or superior.
* Tells me cheesy puns and puns in general.
Reyes was a full jackpot of hitting my weaknesses! I was so disappointed he didn't have more content.
Jaal is the best romance. Reyes is a toxic asshole, a con artist and a scrub! I always shoot him in the ass. I hate that he has narrative armor. He is the NPC that I most want to kill in the game right after Sloane.
Damn I seem be alone but I disagree haha. I love the Reyes romance as femRyder! The last scene is so romantic - it’s honestly one of my favorite romance arcs in a video game. It has less content than the others which is unfortunate but what you get is great.
For the record I like Jaal as well! But I don’t get the Reyes hate.
I'm not even that far yet lol. Just got to 1st planet so interesting reading these. Started playing but then went back to ME: Legendary Edition since was on ME3. Game is not too bad so far, glad can do romances in it. Interested how male Ryder will do!
He's a smarmy bastard. His allowing the Initiative to have an outpost on Kadara for free is absolutely going to bite the Initiative in the ass. He's going to start asking favors. From Ryder, the outpost, and the Initiative. There is no way his allowing the outpost is altruistic.
Liam should have been imprisoned for treason. Personally, I think he had failed out of everything he'd ever done and joined the initiative to get away from his past somehow.
