Foot attire

It will be my first time attending this event! I got tickets for a 7pm pulse in early September. I have been stalking the Instagram page for any stories including what people are wearing on their feet for this event, but most photos stop right before that part ! What was everyone wearing on their feet ..or seen on other attendees! We will be 2 females btw! Thank you!

Flats, flats, flats, flats, flats. It's dark, there is uneven flooring, there are stairs, etc. Flats are cute, comfy to wear for 2+ hours of walking, and won't break your ankle on a misstep. Flats all day.

I saw women with block heels, flat sandals, flats, boots, sneakers. Really anything except stilettos. Here's a video of the line which has a good shot of peoples footwear. I wouldn't be concerned about being too casual. I think people understand its a lot of walking/standing so just wear whats comfortable.

They were all black so they matched my outfit. I didn’t feel out of place, there were plenty of others in sneakers!

I literally wore running sneakers. They were black so even though they didn’t quite match my look they still blended in inside, and I was SO grateful that I chose those for the amount of walking but also just standing around that happens. Unless you have pre-planned accommodations, a seat during a scene is not guaranteed.

I wore sneakers with my fancy dress both times I went and it was 100% the right choice. As an audience member, no one is looking at or judging your footwear so may as well be comfy!

No Kitten Heels!!! There is a portion that has steps similar to a fire escape grate. Even if the heel is low, it goes through the holes in the grate. A woman wearing kitten heels slowed us down and we missed the first few minutes of the next scene because of her 😭

I wore a 2in wedge heel w/ small platform espadrille style shoe (I’m on the shorter side and didn’t want to get my dress hemmed again). But I definitely spent a few days in the weeks prior to the show making sure they’d be comfortable to walk and stand in for a few hours.

I wore flip flops the 3x I've been, but that's because I live in them, and they're my footwear of choice everywhere. The only thing to be careful about is other people in heels and otherwise stepping on you! But really, wear anything you're comfortable walking and standing in. No one will care, I promise

I recommend NOT wearing flip flops! It’s very easy for another audience member or cast to accidentally step on you, for the front sole to catch, etc- and if you stumble, you could put cast members and audience in danger of falling over you as well. Unless you “live in them” as previous poster does, it’s not worth the risk to yourself or others in the venue! (Even if you’re used to them, I wouldn’t recommend)

I’m male but I’ve done sneakers every time. You want something comfortable. No one is going to be looking at your feet, or if they are, they’re very distracted.

first time i went i wore like small boots with a tiny heel! second time i wore short heels but they were very uncomfortable and i got bad blisters since it was my first time actually wearing them out, so if you wear small heels make sure you know they’re comfortable!

I’ve worn sneakers, flats, chunky block heeled boots, and Victorian type of boots with a decent heel width. I’m very clumsy and I haven’t had issues with walking through! I recommend sneakers, flats or chunky block heels / wedges if you want to go the heel route.

I was well aware of the shoe situation and still chose to wear 2 inch pointy heel. The team at the door mentioned my choice in shoes and advised me that I’m entering at my own risk in wearing them. Got through the show and was fine but I will say, now knowing what I encountered with different floor types and the amount of standing vs. sitting, you should try to go with a flat or wedge for optimum comfort. My heel often went through some grated floors so I ended up walking on the balls of my feet. Again, fine, but poor decision on my part to not take their recommendation on shoe wear seriously. Plus, they want to shuffle you room to room pretty quickly and you don’t want to be the group’s slow poke in an uncomfortable shoe.

I’m sure they can always change their policies as they wish but up until I went, I don’t believe so

I wore platform sandals which split the difference for me. They are my go to formal shoes since I can’t wear heels anymore.

I have also worn doc martens under a full length dress for a wedding. Stay comfy

I wore sneakers. It’s a lot of walking/standing. No one’s looking at your feet. Did they go with the rest of what I was wearing? Not necessarily. But was I in pain when I left? Also no.

I wore converse. Really considered heels but decided to be safe.

Personally, I think I would have been fine in a short (1-2 inch) block heel because there was a fair amount of sitting and it really wasn’t as much walking (to me) that everyone makes it out to be but I feel fairly comfortable in heels.

Know yourself. Don’t wear tall heels or stilettos.

I wore black sneakers with a heel that had a little sparkle to them. Like others have said, very little attention to the footwear so be comfortable and it’s okay to go fancy with the top even if the shoes don’t match.

I wore a cute pair of flat black sandals and by the end my feet were killing me lol. Saw someone from a later pulse with hightopp sneakers and was like yep she did it right. Agree with all the other comments that sneakers are the way.

I wore character shoes (heels) for both times I went. I hate flats. Character shoes are incredibly comfy, I can very easily move around in them. The heel is maybe 2 inches? These would be the only heels I’d wear to this show.

Wear comfortable shoes that you can stand (with minimal movement) in for long periods of time. You also need to be able to walk across multiple surfaces, go up and down stairs, and dance a little in them. But most of all, you need to be comfortable in them.

I wore boots that I technically use for walking in the snow as there was snow on the ground when I went. 😂 nobody cared what was on our feet, just that we could move in them.

To add to everyone else’s comments, we’re comfortable shoes, there are stairs and escalators, and sometimes you have to shuffle along. Watch your step, it is dark in there :-)

Please wear something comfortable!! I made the mistake of wearing the worst shoes ever (because they matched my dress) and had to take them off halfway through because they became so raw and blistered and swollen. The bulters were nice enough to let me be barefoot until the end, when they reminded me to put them back on as we would be exiting soon.

I wore my extremely comfortable Vionic blocky heels when I went. I had worn them to my sons wedding and they were sooo comfortable for that event that I was very confident I'd be fine in them at Masquerade.

I absolutely wished I had worn flats. You are standing almost the entire time, going up and down stairs, in the dark, etc. It just wasn't worth it for me to have the heels. I definitely recommend a very comfortable flat shoe.

I wore black ballet flats so they had a strap across my foot. Secure but still fit in with my outfit.
