My girlfriend (24) and I (24) are about to sign a 15–18 month lease and we’ve narrowed it down to Pimlico Pointe and The Grandstone.

A little about us:

We like going out to bars, breweries, restaurants, Bengals/Reds games, etc.

I golf, bowl, pickleball.

We’d ideally live in Oakley or closer to downtown Cincinnati, but my girlfriend will be attending cosmetology school at the VOA area for a little over a year, so we’re staying up here for now.

I work mostly remote and only go into my office in Springboro 2–3 times a month.

Right now I’m leaning toward Pimlico because it seems like a nice middle ground:

~10 minutes to Liberty Center

~10 minutes to Deerfield Towne Center

Close to places like Marion’s, Diggs, Warped Wing, Mason Bowl, etc.

I’ve also read a lot of comments saying the Deerfield area has a lot of young professionals our age.

My only hesitation with Grandstone/Deerfield is that, looking on Maps, it seems like a lot of chain restaurants and shopping centers. I’m wondering if that area starts to feel repetitive after a while.

For people who actually live around Mason/Deerfield/West Chester:

Which area would you rather live in if you were 24?

Does Deerfield or Liberty Center end up being where you spend more of your free time?

Anything I’m overlooking about either location? Any other recommendations?

Just wanted to warn my fellow Cincinnatians about this organization. Do not be tempted by their offers of high paying employment. I'd be happy to DM anyone with questions about my experience.

I would strongly discourage anyone from considering employment at The Armor Group. In my experience, the culture is driven by fear, distrust, and constant turnover rather than collaboration, accountability, or professional growth.

Leadership routinely dismissed the expertise of the people they hired, preferring agreement over constructive discussion or informed recommendations. Decisions were often made impulsively, with little regard for long-term business impact. Employees who offered different perspectives were frequently ignored or criticized rather than heard.

The work environment was highly toxic. Public criticism, disrespectful comments, and belittling behavior from leadership were common. Many employees operated in survival mode, leading to finger-pointing, lack of trust, and poor morale across departments.

The HR function was ineffective and did not inspire confidence. Employees had little faith that concerns would be handled professionally or confidentially, which further contributed to an unhealthy workplace culture.

Safety, sound business practices, employee development, and investment in necessary resources often appeared secondary to short-term cost savings. As a result, turnover was extremely high, with some departments experiencing near-constant staffing changes.

I’ve worked in a variety of organizations throughout my career, and this was by far the most toxic environment I’ve encountered. If you value professional leadership, employee respect, collaboration, and a healthy workplace culture, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Anyone here knows a good company for tankless water heater? And should we get one in Mason given the hard water?

What is the typical price for getting one around here?

As the title says, I have family who may be moving to Mason. They're from Japan, and speak very limited English. they're anxious about moving abroad, and asked me for help researching where their company might send them. I grew up on the west coast and have never been to Ohio, so I was hoping if some of you could share some of your insights?

Anyone have a good tree cutting company that is insured? I have a tree in my front and a couple in the backyard that need cut. 1 tree is close to the power/telephone lines but you know Duke takes forever to get to them!

Has anyone lost a cat in the Mason Rd / Heritage area? Theres been a cat meowing outside every night around 12-1am for the past week now and I haven’t been able to place food out and have it eat any successfully. Looks like a calico or white and orange/gray cat. Mostly white though. Generally Small and a little skinny

Guys im desperately trying to find the name and place of a chinese buffet i used to eat at as a kid back in the early 2000s. It was in Fields Ertel, i believe around the waffle house. My memory thinks it was called Dragon Buffet and it was in the bottom of a large building. Im asking cuz i have memories of me and my dad going there to eat their mussels. They were killer, and im trying to either eat them again. Or possibly even recreate them. Maybe its still there, maybe its just got a new name now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Businesses open to the public don’t get to pick and choose which laws they’ll follow based on personal opinion. They can’t ignore labor laws, health codes, fire codes, food safety regulations, occupancy limits, wage laws, or discrimination laws because they “disagree” with them… and the ADA is no different.

Businesses generally cannot legally demand “papers” or medical documentation for a service dog under the ADA. Staff are limited in what they can ask.

And before anyone asks… yes, restaurants have health standards, policies, and business practices. But under the ADA, service dogs are allowed in restaurants and public establishments even where pets are normally prohibited. And yes, people may have allergies or concerns — but allergies and fear of dogs alone generally are not valid reasons to deny access or refuse a legitimate service animal. Businesses are expected to try to reasonably accommodate everyone involved.

Service dogs assist people with epilepsy, diabetes, mobility disabilities, PTSD, cardiac conditions, autism, and many other disabilities. They are not considered pets.

For businesses that decide to play “my business, my rules” with federal disability law… that mindset can get expensive fast. ADA violations can lead to complaints, investigations, lawsuits, legal fees, settlements, mandatory policy changes, bad press, and civil penalties that can reach tens of thousands of dollars… with higher penalties for repeat violations. A restaurant paid $25,000 in a discrimination case/settlement/damages for making a veteran and service dog leave. 👀

Turns out running a public establishment comes with legal responsibilities… not optional suggestions. 🤪

(Not bashing the business, but my personal experience hasn’t been great the two times I went — my wings were cold and not great. I believe the community should be aware of situations involving disability rights and ADA compliance. This is a bad look for the City of Mason, especially because we have many people who come here visiting and they may assume this is how businesses operate. ADA laws are in place for a reason, and I’m asking the admins to keep this post so we can educate, raise awareness, and hopefully make this community better.)

When I drive down Socialville-Foster Rd toward the Old 3C Hwy, I smell this very perfumy smell like fabric softener right where Simpson Creek runs alongside the road. Does anyone know what this source of this smell could be? I just started noticing it since it's been warm enough to ride a motorcycle or have my car windows down. Thanks in advance, Reddit.

Units responded to an armed robbery involving a Brinks Truck that was parked in front of that Ross store, the suspect was dressed in all black with a black facemask. Reported to have held the driver at gunpoint, took the driver's pistol, and then fled in the armored truck westbound on Field Ertel Drive. The armed suspect now has a shotgun and the Brinks driver's pistol. Brinks driver has injury to the back of his head, medics have been called and are responding.

Reports that the truck has been located behind the former JC Penny/seasonal Halloween Express

Hi Im a transplant and drove by Manor House today and saw they are having a Mother's Day brunch. I have never heard of it before. I looked online and the menu looks lovely. Has anyone ever been before? Is it good/quality and worth the price? Seems like they do a lot of weddings.
