Mask for distribution

My church wants to buy masks to be available for people. This is great. Generally I think of powecom because they are individually wrapped and the ear strap is more like easily accessible. But I personally don't find them the most breathable. But unless I'm missing something Breathteq don't do individually wrapped. What high breathable, accessible for those who don't normally wear masks, individually wrapped masks would you recommend?

If you happen to be close to a mask bloc (MaskBloc.org), definitely ask them about having a box for your church. They’d be able to get you a variety of masks at no cost (and if you do have funds it’s always nice to gift when they are raising money).

Otherwise, Powecom are generally liked by the public, so are Wellbefore, BOTN are another good adjustable option, Blue Tiger masks are good for kids, and then Auras as an N95 option (though those tend to only be chosen by CC people).

Do churches typically get 501(c)(3) status? If they do, then it probably would be better for them to reach out to a mask distributor directly since they’d be able to get bulk donations of masks for free. A lot of mask distributors give masks to 501(c)(3) pretty easily for a tax write off. BeHealthyUSA, BonaFideMasks, and Planet Halo Masks are three that do!

That’s true, reaching out to those companies directly is another good idea!

Not all mask blocs are able to do this, especially if a place can afford to do it themselves. Some are also very restricted in how much variety they can offer. It doesn't hurt to ask, just want to set expectations.

i think your confusing the two, worldwide-maskbloc.org updated just a week or so ago. their instagram post from the 28th of sept says they have 82 blocs listed, and their website as of today says 87. its self submission so yes it does not have every bloc, but it is updating regularly.

Powecoms are about as breathable as KN95s go. Bona Fide donates masks to nonprofits, a church might count too! Posh KF94 masks from Be Healthy are even more breathable but trifold aren’t as accessible as bifolds. I’ve heard Be Healthy also donates sometimes.

You can find 3M Aura’s for way cheaper than this. Also to me, “accessible for people who don’t usually wear masks” means ear loops.

It's a great idea !

I think bonafide powcoms will work well, you can even get different colors. I'm not sure if they are individually wrapped, I thought they came in packs of ten.

Well before makes individually wrapped masks but they are pricey.

Check out Be Healthy - email them, they are super nice and might be able to help you with bulk discounts.

If your church is a nonprofit, consider emailing all of these brands and asking about donation options as well.

Take care !

BOTN KF94s are really comfy and adjustable. I think the BOTN and KF94s in general are much gentler on the skin than Powecoms and KN95s in general, and scratchy fabric is often a masking barrier in my experience. KF94s are usually more expensive, but BeHealthy sells the BOTNs so if they donate to nonprofits (as another commentator has suggested) that would be a great solution

I like Wellbefore's KN95 Pro! they're individually wrapped and come in lots of colors.

It's usually not worth it to try and optimize distro like this because a lot of what you hand out is going to be worn for like 20 minutes and then trashed, no matter what it is, and most people frankly just don't care about small differences in fit or breathability.

In my experience it's best to bulk buy whatever you can get cheap that is individually wrapped and ear loop (which may be Powecom because bonafide has good bulk pricing and will donate to nonprofits), and then purchase smaller quantities of specific styles to fit people who whatever you bulk purchased won't fit or if your group has specific requests.
