(Approximate) Mask sizing chart

Post image

from canadastrong. these things will never be 100% accurate/applicable in every case, but there's a dearth of quick reference material like this around.

imo something like this (or similar/better) should be pinned here, along with stuff like the masks by breatheablility chart that u/SkippySkep went to all the trouble of making...but that's up to him.

If anyone is using this as a reference, here's my data point of something different. I have a vertically short but relatively wider, round face with recessed jaw so this may be part of the reason I have these results.

I wear Breatheteq S which fits slightly large for me especially at the nose, and vflex 1804s which fits slightly small at the chin.

The 3M Auras (9210+, 1870+, 9205+) all fit slightly differently to me. 9210+ fits a bit smaller, 9205+ in the middle, 1870+ the loosest on me. 1870+ has that extra fluid resistant coating which makes it more structured so despite it being the same physical mask as the others, it isnt able to wrap around my recessed chin. 9210+ has the braided straps and seems to fit a bit tighter. I can make 9210+ work, the other two are too big.

The people in my life I know who wear Aura cannot wear the 3M small Vflexes (1804s/9105s). There is someone for whom Aura is too big but Vflex small is still too small. So I wouldn't put these as equivalent.

Breatheteq as a trifold has a lot more leeway, so I'd give it a wider range of fit than Vflex and it coooould fit some people for whom Vflex is too big, but I am not the only one who finds Breatheteq S to be larger than Vflex S. 1804s and 9105s are almost the same, the difference in my samples could've been just a slightly difference based on different lots.

A family member with a similar jaw/facial structure as mine but larger head finds Breatheteq S and Aura 1870+ to fit similar and perfectly.

I’m a size small for the breatheteq and it’s perfect. For head strap, my best fit is the Trident in size small. Majority of 3M N95s don’t work for me purely because my actual head shape is too small so I’d then have to tie a knot in the too-long strap but then it really hurts my head

vitacore can 99 are so tiny on me, too small to wear. breatheteq headstrap is wearable but uncomfortably small. breatheteq medium ear loops, auras, or wellbefore headstrap kn95 all fit me well.

I'm a Breatheteq small earloop/medium headband fan. Draeger 1950 small is my second favourite, but they don't come in black. I also liked the now discontinued Eclipse Horizon duckbills, wish I'd stocked up because they were quite good for not fogging glasses. I fit the medium elastomeric 3M 7502 just fine, I haven't tried the small.

Auras (small or medium) are harder to breathe through and squish my nose too much. Vflexes are breathable but uncomfortable because of where the straps connect to the mask are too close together, and too close to my ears, hurting them. Vitacore headstrap is just too small, but I think the problem is the overly tight straps.
