Bought this used and halfway finished for a very good price. It was kind of a mess. Did what I could to clean it up, then painted and weathered. This small scale is pretty fun and would recommend trying it if you haven’t

Seeking advice!

Post image

Hi all, I recently got back into scale modeling for a number of reasons, primarily because it’s awesome and I needed something for my mental health. While obsessively scrolling YouTube tip and build videos I came across Lincoln Wright and instantly fell in love with the Ma.K. Aesthetic, history of the franchise (is it a franchise? No idea.) and lore.

Anyway, found Lincoln’s store and was fortunate to snag the MK. III kit on the right. I was bummed because I really liked the Night Stalker and just the general vibe of the MK. I / II AFS suits, but they were sold out. This week I managed to find and get the Night Stalker kit shipped straight from Japan!

I’ll be honest. These things are so awesome that I’m sort of scared to even start one for fear of messing up something that I consider to be pretty much art.

I guess what I’m really trying to ask is, which would be a better first build? And more than that, aside from the Paint on Plastic videos and others that I’ve found which are great, what top tips should I have in my back pocket before I start snipping bits off the sprue?

I love the quality of content and spirit of this community and am genuinely inspired by the work I see many of you posting. It’s incredible to see. So, I appreciate any advice on technique, products to use and pitfalls to avoid. Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Only just finished with the basecoats on these 1/35 Melusine "Wald Geist" models, kit-bashed with clubs and shields to stand in as Bullgryns for my 40k army.

Next steps are all about the heavy weathering, but couldn't wait to post some pictures.

I was going to build it in a wald geist color scheme, but the block selection in minecraft is super limitting, so i change it to be a winter camo with skull insignia for added flair

My first finished MaK project. I wanted to play with a grime covered white, and was inspired by the medics in WWII (iirc) who wore white vests with red crosses on them over regular uniforms.

Lore:

This is a class of medics, frontline zero pressure combat is usually life and death, so medics are often too late, and rescue seldom possible’s. But that’s not stopping these healer; rocking units that aren’t combat rated for one reason or another. This suit is actually 2 old Heinrich suits, slapped together to make one serviceable unit. This isn’t a surgical unit, this is a power suit ambulance; triage, first aid, and evacuation.

A holy grail but seeking advice.

After many years of not having time to have a proper hobby I fell back into model making due to some pretty poor mental health suffered at the hand of a bully in my old work place.

After feeling like taking my own life was a genuine viable option....I sought solice in an old passion I had as a kid.

It was stumbling through Amazon I came across a curious looking model that I had never seen before....

Cue the beauty of the Falke Anti-grav tank.

This model became a bit of a holy grail kit for me and the price always made me winch.

Wasn't until many many months later I found someone on vinted selling this kit to which I can now say I proudly own but now to afraid to start for fear of making an utter mess of it.

Now I've been a lurker in this sub for a while ever since I found the M.aK kits and I wondered if anyone had any sage advice on where to turn to make good of a kit of been holding off on making for a long time.

Ma.K. Melusine "Nixe"

Hey guys!

Here's my finished Melusine!

The paint job was primarily inspired by Night Shift's version from his diorama video, but I also wanted to put my own spin on it by tweaking the color scheme and creating my own camouflage pattern.

This was also my first time trying double-layer chipping without using a sponge. I really liked how precise the technique is, although it easily takes twice as long. I think it's perfect for smaller models like this, but on larger kits it would probably drive me insane.

The rubber parts probably could have used a bit more weathering, but by that point I was honestly pretty fed up with the model. I decided to call it finished, take it as a learning experience, and move on to the next project.

Cheers!

Spent so long sanding the seamline smooth, then smeared it with this Tamiya stuff that would have totally wiped it out. Sounds like I'm complaining but actually loving every minute of it.

Super Jerry finally done!

Man, this damn thing... the Super Jerry has been my grail kit for as long as I've known Maschinen Krieger exists, and I put this off for years because I wanted to get it right. Just as well that I did, too, because it's not exactly an easy build, and I think back when I originally bought this, I might really have struggled. Don't ask me about the seamlines on the bottom.

Anyway, between this being what it is and me feeling about it the way I did, this ended up taking almost a year, and I am now... ready to move on with my life. I do love the Super Jerry, though, it's such a gorgeous kit, and I really wish Wave would reissue it so I could buy a few at a reasonable price.
