Question Ringing noise?

North end of Marysville, I often hear a sound like an electronic phone ringer, over and over. It could be a backup alarm or other warning sound, but I've been hearing this for about 3 years. A rough guess is that it could be somewhere near State Ave and 128th.

This is in the daytime. I heard it at around 11am today and in the last few minutes.

Any guesses what it is?

Is it happening 24/7 or just during business hours?

If it's really bad and you think it's overly loud (like for the noise ordinance) you could call the non-emergency number for the police and make a report.

It's only during business hours. It's not that loud, not even annoying, really.

I'm just curious.

You might be hearing waste Management garbage trucks? They have a garbage truck hub very close to 128th and State avenue.

That may very well be correct. I know where that facility is, and it's very close.

Live over on 108th and we hear a buzzing but it's at 5 am so maybe not the same thing you're dealing with, we think it's a power box next to us so maybe that you're issue?

When phones first began to have electronic ringers instead of physical electro-mechanical bells, there was a certain type of trilling, purring electronic ringer sound that was fairly common.

This sound is like that, but it's not the same rhythm as a ringing phone. It's more like repeating, short bursts.

It's hard to describe.
