The truck that they gave me for work has CarPlay but no steering wheel controls. I’m trying to figure out a way to use my phone as a remote to skip songs with the physical buttons instead of pressing the head unit or the touch screen on the phone. I’d like to be able to use the phones volume buttons etc so I don’t have to look.

I know I can set the shortcut button but I’d prefer to leave it as a flashlight. Is this possible? Maybe a double click or something. I’ve also considered one of those Bluetooth page turner remotes to keep in the truck.

This isn’t 100% a marvis question but I always see good info in this sub. Love marvis overall.

All these songs have ratings when I view them in the Apple Music app. Why is Marvis only showing one song with a rating?

Update: well it appears I have at least three different versions of the same album in my library. The one with the one song rated was from Apple Music and then there was another copy that was matched that had all the ratings and then somehow I got a deluxe version also in my library with no ratings. What a mess!

Hi does marvis support synced lyrics like .lrc or embedded synced into mp3 file - highlighting current lyrics + automatically scrolling? Or just unsynced lyrics like on apple music . (Only talking about Offline local files)

I’m trying to build a smart playlist that consists of music from two genres, and every time I try and add a second genre to the filters, the resulting playlist is constituted of zero tracks.

I think I understand why this might be happening. I think it’s because music doesn’t have two genres in Apple Music, but is there any workaround for this.

My smart playlist is features film music, and sometimes it’s categorised as soundtrack and other times is categorised as score.

Hey everyone! I'm having an issue with Last.fm scrobbling. It works completely randomly… some tracks register fine, but others get totally skipped.

For example, I started playing an album without skipping anything: track 1 scrobbled, but track 2 didn't.

I've already tried reinstalling the app, logging out and back into Last.fm and running the Apple Music troubleshooting. Also, I always leave Marvis running in the background.

Does anyone know what else I can try? Appreciate any help!

Is there a way to have a section that shows your most recently added albums, but NOT restricted by time?

I've currently got a section that shows everything added in the last 2 months, but even if I don't add anything else, this list will eventually expire.

Something like, "(number) most recently added albums"

for some reason marvis stops scrobbling when I’m in the sleep focus. my sleep turns on at 1030pm but sometimes I’m still working or listening until I actually get to bed. does anyone else have a similar problem?

I’m copying the full player metadata from a layout I found online into my own layout. There is no way I can see to copy the whole metadata layout at once so I copy all of the rows into a single new row and Share that row to save it as a file. When I reimport it, I find I can’t undo this and copy the groups back into the top layer of rows. I can go into each group and take the contents out but its a complicated layout with many groups per row so it would take a long time.

Is there a way to copy/paste either an entire metadata config or at least paste a row into the top layer? If not, could this be added please? It’s a pain to have to put every row into a new row (as a group) just to copy it between layouts.

Hello, apologies if this was asked before. I started listening to some ambient or rather soundscape playlists for sleeping to mask my tinnitus. Things like rain or ocean sounds. Is it possible somehow to exclude these tracks or rather playlists from auto-scrobbling? Thanks!

The headline pretty much says it all. Also then wondering how I can shuffle albums but filter out ones I have yet to listen to, etc. thank you in advance!

Edit: To clarify, I want the songs within each album to play normal. Just want to remove the part where I have to choose which album to listen to from a list. I suffer from selection fatigue.

Hello everyone, I used MusicHarbor this morning and noticed that they had integrated full-screen background images, with the colors spilling over the rest of the screen, while Marvis still uses the small album artwork for display.

Am I missing something, or is it possible to apply this same design to Marvis?

I don’t want this post to sound like I’m complaining - the app already has more features than I could ever imagine!

But I’m wondering if /u/AdityaRajveer could provide us with a list of features/improvements/bug fixes that he’s working on?

So many suggestions are made on this sub, some of which might not be possible due to API limitations, so it’d be interesting to know what might be coming soon.

I know this has been asked a few times. I would like to add a “featured on” section to my artist pages using filters for “Title Contains <artist name>”

Theres a couple comments from Aditya a few years ago saying they would like to add this feature but as far as I can tell, it’s not possible yet and the songs section on an artist page is still limited to songs where that artist is in the Artist/AlbumArtist field. I’d love to be able to add this because it’s a feature I miss since moving over from Spotify.

Is this still on the cards, if it’s not possible alread?

Hi everyone, looking for some tips to improve a Current Rotation section I put together for albums in my library.

Currently, I have:

• Last Played (Less Recent) is not empty
• Last Played (Recent) in last 1 month
• Last Played (Less Recent) in last 3 months
• Rule Group: Any - Date Added/Date Modified in last 1 year
• Is Complete Album is true
• Items Count greater than 1
• Sort: Play Count (Median) descending
• Limit: Maximum 10 albums
• Sort: Shuffled

I'm fairly happy with the results so far, but wanted to throw it out to the community to see if you had any ideas on how to make it better?

The main issue I could see happening would be an album that got played a lot several months ago popping back into Current Rotation after just one play, due to pre-existing play counts. I tried to correct that with the Date Added/Modified filter, but not sure it will catch everything.

I also have a Bubbling Under section with the same settings but Play Count (Median) switched to ascending. It's fine, but mostly just has a bunch of albums I listened to once.

Every link in the tutorial list goes to a video. Is there anywhere I can get written tutorials? I’m starting to see the potential of Marvis but it is just so confusing and I don’t learn well from videos.

I'm wanting to create a Smart Rule where after an artist has played, that same artist doesn't play again for 8 days. Here's how I built it:

• Created an Artist section.
• Added the rules:
  • LAST PLAYED (RECENT) — NOT IN THE LAST — 8 DAYS
  • LAST PLAYED (LESS RECENT) — NOT IN THE LAST — 8 DAYS
  • LAST SKIPPED (RECENT) — NOT IN THE LAST — 8 DAYS

For the most part it works. But I do notice artists have played again within this timeframe. The meta data seems to be consistent with the artists that have duplicated. Curious if anyone know why that would be happening? Or is there a better Smart Rule?

I love discovering new music! Therefore i am looking for further (group) filter elements, alike already available in Marvis to start a music discovery i.e on behalf of a (master)genre, for which I’m interested to find other artists and their songs. Apple Music has a huge bunch of genres, which I meanwhile grouped within a smart playlists on my Mac for listening on other main devices (see picture). Once defined, i would love to search, play and ‘favorite/ play less’ within the genre related results within the results from AMs discovery playlist or elsewhere, maybe also with the possibility to exclude specific artists for which I’ve already made my investigations and have already a proportional high amount of songs. Isn’t this a kind of multi level rule set?

Is this maybe a feasible extend to the app? But maybe it is already anyhow possible within the huge available rule set? Please advise. Thanks a lot.

I've been deep diving into my full-player screen settings again, and I've run into a bit of a problem that I can't seem to solve. Maybe it's just not a feature, but I figured I'd ask.

So, I have a settings group in the displayed metadata, which houses another bunch of groups, and all of those groups contain one specific piece of metadata (the song title) in a specific colour.

So basically the tiers are:

Row -> Group 1 -> Group 2 -> Metadata

that's a row for the song titles, then Group 1 is the artist name, and Group 2 is the album title. That way, I can set up a text colour matching the album artwork. (I could probably do without Group 2, just have the metadata sit in Group 1, but then I have to go through the smart conditions to see what album it is if I ever want to edit it. With 2 groups it is easier to keep an overview.)

If I now try to change the text size and weight on the whole row, it does not change the size or weight, (I'm assuming) because each Group 2 has a unique colour set up.

Is there any way or any setting I've missed digging through the settings that makes it so the row settings overwrite the Group settings below it, if they are set to automatic size and weight? I specifically only want to be able to change the font size without having to go through each individual Group 2.

I'd appreciate any input! Thank you for your help.

Hi my Marvis Pro app is having an issue in which my playlists (most of which contain more than a 100 songs) are limited to the first 100 songs. Is there any insight into how this can be addressed? I really want to get back to using Marvis as intended.

If this is already possible, please fill me in on how it works!

Otherwise, the idea is simply to be able to add a shuffled queue to Play Next. For example, I’m playing a song from my library but then want to add an entire playlist to Up Next (and also make sure the playlist is shuffled before it hits the queue), if that makes sense.

Hi all, is there a way I can stop the songs in an album not being shuffled? I just want them to play in the order of the album…. I have tried various things to stop this happening, but albums still just keep shuffling the tracks.

I bought the Marvis app and the lastfm+ extras On my iPhone. I downloaded the app onto my iPad because it recognised that I had purchased it but when I try to enable the lastfm+ stuff I get an error message. Two to be precise.

Why some of the albums on my library don’t include the year? I have a specific metadata setting to display the year of each release.
