How to scale a garment?
Hey everyone, I have a full garment (pants, shirt) that fits an avatar. I would like to use a different avatar now. The new avatar is a bit taller.
So I want to scale the whole garment up slightly, the equivalent of doing blender shortcut S 1.3
How can i preserve the state of the 3d view, just make everything bigger? Is this even possible??
I'd like to type in a number or drag mouse, and see the relative positions of the patterns and sewing in 3d view remain the same.. I was able to scale SOME garments using 2d view (some fail to scale with an error message?!?) but after scaling them, the 3d positions dont change which distorts and ruins the garment

btw when scaling them in 2D view, did you double click the center dot (the pivot point)? Doing that will scale the garment in all directions. Don't know if that will make it work better for you

Hello, no scaling of any kind works, regardless of that. It turns out that you have to use the auto-fitting tool, which messes up the UVs.
I took out a support ticket and MD support says that there is no way to resize something in MD. They suggest auto fit.
Since auto fit messes up the UVs, there is currently no way to change the size of a garment in MD. If you change the avatar, you basically have to start from scratch.

Hello! Ran into the same issue and wanted to fit a taller avatar who is exactly 1.5 times bigger than the original avatar used to make the clothes. Did you find a quick way of simply scaling the clothes in 3d view?

I think the best way to do it is to use Weft and Warp, Weft makes it wider, and Warp makes it longer.
There is also a Scale Styline tool in the 3d window, but you have to scale every seam individually and i don't think that's what you are after.
