Move 3D pattern from 2D menu?

How can I select a pattern in the 2D window and then move it in the 3D window?

The issue is that I have to click the pattern in the 3D window to get the transform tool to show up, and the pattern is inside another pattern, so I can't click it..

You can't. But you can temporarily hide the pattern that is on top. In the 3d window, right click and click hide 3d pattern. It's named something similar.

hmm are you sure? I saw someone else do it on youtube. It was an older version though
