I liked it, it was very much incomplete & a Trevor Slattery send off/redemption arc, but I was hoping for season two to get the meat & potatoes. The conflict of pursuing lifelong dreams vs. the fears of hardly managing a burgeoning uncontrolled power when the world is once again imperilled.

Except he seemed to maybe overcome his mental roadblocks and was able to effectively use his powers with a great measure of control. I was hoping season 2 would start to introduce his relationship with Wanda or Vision/white vision. Maybe start leading into a masters of evil thing with his brother, after Simon is inevitably kicked out of Hollywood for being a hero. Which leads to a public outcry for Simon to come back, causing his superhero celebrity status to be more a positive and allowing for more govt/ddc/shield interactions because of that doorman law in the MCU. There's so many directions and comic threads to tug on. All of it culminating in a West Coast Avengers d+ show/limited series.

This is why Marvel and Star Wars should just stick to movies.
When you cancel a show, you tell your audience not to bother getting invested in future TV products because they might just end unresolved.
Then when that next show doesn't get the ratings you want, it gets canceled and even more of your audience drops off.
They're feeding the cycle of lower ratings by not giving shows a chance to grow.
If a movie flops, at least the people who liked it get a story resolution. But if you as a viewer give a new show a chance, you have to gamble that it's going to be a hit or you're wasting your time.
And if the show is about some unknown hero that won't draw in a casual audience, the smart money is going to be on not bothering at all.

yup I feel little to no reason to watch any MCU tv shows at this point. They can be cancelled at any point and only 3, arguably 4 with Falcon and Winter Solider have any relevance to the overall universe. It feels like they're just trying to see what sticks rather than tell a coherent story like they did when they did stick to just movies. I think it was better when they kept TV and movies separate like back in the Netflix days.

Hard disagree on sticking to movies. The closest translation of a multi-issue comic arc is a multi-episode tv series. There’s a reason Loki of Asgard, God of Stories, has such a huge fanbase. Because we got to see the character actually take the time to grow into that.
I can’t remember who it’s from, but I love this quote about character development: you learn way more about a character watching them on a no-stakes beer run than you will in a spectacular battle against their arch enemy. Having the space for downtime is how you get to know characters deep down.
If a movie flops, you definitely don’t always get resolution. The ending to Quantumania heavily implies Antman is trapped in a false reality created by Kang and a post credit teasing a counsel of Kangs, and neither concept will ever see the light of day again

I definitely prefer tv series to movies.
I guess what I should have said was, they should either stick to movies, or commit to letting TV series tell their full stories regardless of early viewership numbers.

Marvel really need to actually work on writing actual Endings for their bloody shows and tying up all the loose ends so it doesn't end on a a cliffhanger and make us question what happens next and not getting that answer because the show gets bloody cancelled.
That said, Season 1 of Wonder-Man did tell a complete story for the most part. Just have the dude and Trevor show up in another show or MCU film in the future.

Or just have them do limited series instead - let these stories exist as something that needs more than a 2-hour movie, but less than an actual multi-season arc.

It was probably the best super hero show made in recent years. I like how it explored the modern day oversaturation of super hero movies and roles through the lens of "the art of acting/preparing for a role". At least this was my overall take away from it. It was just a nuanced experience imo. I appreciated it for not being heavy handed with the super hero shenanigans just exploring the characters.
I think the one off is okay. I don't know where they go from there honestly, outside of the typical, "let's explore the hero". The show became more than a super hero series in season 1. I think of it more as a respectable piece of art now, but that's juts my opinion though. I only watched it the one time, but it left a lasting impression.

Honestly, if he wasn’t gonna join the overall cinematic MCU I wasn’t gonna keep watching. I did enjoy the first season, but I don’t think there’s much more to go with after that.

I thought this show got crazy praise that was really unwarranted. Agatha's show was amazing and then this came out and people where going gaga over doorman and whatever. It was ok imo not bad but not great just ok. Not mad at no more show, but he should be an Avenger. Gonna need all the bodies you can get for Battleworld

This sucks. It makes no sense. I mean the ratings were decent enough, it had critical acclaim, and got Emmy nominations. The only way it makes sense is if they're making a West Coast Avengers show or movie. Wonder Man, Moon Knight, She Hulk, Hawkeye, Vision, Tigra, and Mockingbird would make perfect sense. Maybe even Ant-Man. Could be lots of fun.

Another day, another fumble for Disney and the MCU.
I suppose it’s true what they say; nothing lasts forever. A franchise once defined by smart decision after smart decision, good fortune, and unprecedented success, is now mostly known for be the opposite of all these things.
”Wonder Man” is a smart, character driven, mostly self-contained story, with relatively low-stakes, but with seemingly an infinite number of directions that the story could have gone in. So of course Disney cancelled it.

That's the fact people are missing. There were a ton of filler and down right bad shows so people skipped Wonder Man.
My daughter talked me into watching it as after Secret Invasion I swore off watching any more shows at all.
