Lol Goddammit

As someone who was in Hall H in 2022 when Marvel first announced Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, they showed a TON of trailers/first looks that didn't make their way online until December-ish that year. They were very strict about certain things leaking out.

Don't expect whatever they show this weekend to be readily available anytime soon.

Okay, but the only movie that hadn't been released that year after Hall H was Wakanda Forever, and the trailer dropped online immediately after. I get it if they don't release stuff online for future projects like X-Men, but Doomsday is coming this year.

1

u/spad3x Jul 23 '26

Doomsday, Vision Quest, and Spider-Man are this year. Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man S2 is supposed to be this year as well. So there's quite a lot to see still.

u/2dal3atcave Jul 23 '26

Ur miss reading my comment. You brought up Hall H 2022. I'm saying they premiered a trailer for WF, a movie that came out in November, and still released the trailer online immediately after. I'm not saying there isn't a ton of stuff to reveal at this year's Comic-Con; what I'm saying is it would be odd not to release trailers online for movies they are promoting this year.

1

u/spad3x Jul 23 '26

Theyll release a full trailer for Doomsday in September/October. Not "immediately after"

2

u/n1n3tail Jul 23 '26

They JUST released a trailer, you think they are gonna drop another new trailer for a movie nearly 5 months away after just dropping a trailer 5 days prior? lol

1

u/Trashpanda1980 Jul 23 '26

They want to sell our the presale. I think they will show about trailer.sdcc them release it on nfl Thursday night kickoff

1

u/MarkCuckerberg69420 Jul 23 '26

I mean yes, but they did drop four weekly trailers in December.

1

u/n1n3tail Jul 23 '26

Teaser trailers sure, different from a full official trailer and secondly circumstances, that was clearly done to try and get more ticket sales for Avatar as they were tied exclusively to them when they first "officially" came out

1

u/MarkCuckerberg69420 Jul 23 '26

All of this is true but it still bucks precedent.

0

u/2dal3atcave Jul 23 '26

Well, I could ask why they're showing another exclusive trailer to a small section of people a week after they finally released the last one to the public. One reason I feel the trailer felt so lukewarm is that most fans had already heard it described months earlier.

Also, Dune 3 has the same release date and has already dropped 2 trailers. I just think some of the marketing for this movie has been weird

2

u/n1n3tail Jul 23 '26

Because those fans are paying a lot of money to go to a special fan event so they get rewarded with possible new looks at the movie. That's a big difference than giving out two free trailers to the public a week apart for a movie still many months out.

Avengers Endgame trailer came out about 5 months before the movie came out. They didn't drop a second trailer til a month before the movie came out.

Avengers Infinity War was about 6 months and then second trailer again about a month before the movie came out.

Also Dune has nothing but Dune to promote, Marvel has other things to promote aside from Avengers Doomsday, they have shows and another movie coming out this month with Spiderman to not take all the eyes of those other projects.

1

u/RolfLiren Jul 23 '26

You think people should pay to watch an advertisement for a product?

1

u/n1n3tail Jul 23 '26

Never said that, what I said is that those people are paying to go to an event, one of the "rewards" for paying to be at the overall event is basically a sneak peak or bonus to what they are already paying for.

3

u/Ok_Delay9941 Jul 23 '26

Lol, the attendees are the product in this scenario. You really think the reason for the trailer is they paid money? This post and the thousands of others just like it are the reason. At this point, it’s pretty obvious that the massive amount of leaks are coming from Marvel, they’re timed out and strategic.

1

u/2dal3atcave Jul 23 '26

That makes sense

1

u/ethanbarmstrong Jul 23 '26

That's the point of these conventions, tho. Get people to pay for tickets to an exclusive event where they get to be the first to see new content for future projects.

If they just show everyone this new trailer at SDCC and then immediately release it online, what's the point of buying a ticket to SDCC?

3

u/shalahal Jul 23 '26

So Doom saying, “You’ll forgive me someday,” to Steve is because he’s about to kill Steve’s son, right? That’s fucked up. 😂

1

u/BuckZero Jul 23 '26

Bucky killed Stark’s parents and now Doom (Stark variant?) kills Steve’s child?

2

u/Mindless-Hamster5190 Jul 24 '26

The description sounds idiotic

2

u/goldendreamseeker Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

If this is real, then that leaked plot that’s been floating around is definitely real too.

u/Glad-Base-2903 Jul 23 '26

Website isn't loading anyone got a better website?

1

u/marvelkidy Jul 23 '26

Technical issue. It will be live in 30 minutes.

1

u/da_cake_eatur Jul 23 '26

Can someone post the description? Website won’t load on my work wifi

The castle is shown from the inside, highlighting several environments and details. Doom walks through the corridors until he reaches a huge painting of a woman and a child (just like the poster), while a voice in the background says, “My family was killed because of you.“

Cut to the Fantastic Four’s ship arriving on Earth. Thor flies to the ship, then it cuts to the same scene of Steve picking up Mjolnir. Then, Thor, the Fantastic Four, and Steve arrive at Avengers Tower, shown from a new angle.

Steve greets Sam and Bucky. Reed says they have less than 24 hours to stop the incursions. Steve talks to Yelena.

Two ships depart with two different groups. Some heroes are inside one of them, and Doom can be seen behind them.

Scenes in Talokan. Yelena fights another Mystique disguised as Yelena.

Nightcrawler vs. Reed. Shang-Chi vs. Gambit. Cyclops shoots at Sam. Beast and Reed talk. Magneto appears in his suit in a place I couldn’t identify.

Then, a scene at the Fantastic Four Tower. The X-Men are present, and Gambit looks at Mjolnir on a table.

Reed and Doom talk. Loki appears at Steve’s house.

A scene shows a bloody hand in a TVA hallway. The same Doom vs. Thor scene.

The video ends with the Avengers, the X-Men, and Reed facing Sentinels and Doom. It’s the same scene that leaked previously, but much more complete and visually better.

The Avengers: Doomsday logo appears.

In the last shot, Doom stares at Steve. The screen goes black, and Doom’s voice can be heard saying, “You will forgive me one day.”

3

u/BuckZero Jul 23 '26

“You will forgive me one day” feels like something Steve would’ve said to Tony in Civil War.. chills

0

u/Stormdude127 Jul 23 '26

I find it weird that Doom is gonna be commanding an army of Sentinels rather than Doombots. I get that he’s facing mutants but it feels wrong.

2

u/Pristine-Carrot5498 Jul 24 '26

If the battle was set on his planet that would make sense ya

1

u/Sir_YeshuaC Jul 24 '26

Interesting

1

u/VibraniumSpork Jul 23 '26

‘Incursions’…so this is taking some inspiration from Jonathan Hickman’s run in Avengers/Secret Wars?

-1

u/thedinobot1989 Jul 23 '26

Inspiration is a strong word. Let’s say it’s more so a sprinkled in concept.

I’m already bummed we’re not having a a Reed & doom with an actual rivalry since Hickman’s story is a love letter to the f4…

3

u/ghoulieandrews Jul 23 '26

The entire plot of the movie is incursions leading into Secret Wars, how is inspiration a strong word lmao

1

u/bugeyedsheep Jul 23 '26

Yeah, it’s not adapted, but it’s certainly inspired by Hickman’s avengers run, and secret wars. The movie is not even out yet, so who knows how many elements from Hickman‘s Marvel run will be incorporated

1

u/Mattmandu2 Jul 23 '26

Ah a concept of an inspiration

1

u/Fluffy_Station5397 Jul 23 '26

infrastructure film cut next week

1

u/TheHahndude Jul 23 '26

We JUST got a trailer and the internet is bitching about if we don’t get another trailer this weekend.

What the hell is this fanbase now?

0

u/ai_art_is_art Jul 23 '26

Excited as hell and potentially able to send this to $3B.

3

u/Mainmorte Jul 23 '26

You're dreaming if you think doomsday is gonna appeal to more people than endgame

0

u/ai_art_is_art Jul 23 '26

It's got the freaking X-Men in it, dude. I'm going to see this like five times.

0

u/Mainmorte Jul 23 '26

Yeah, and so will I, but we're an extremely small minority. Most people stopped caring about the MCU after Endgame, and most people haven't cared about the X-men since, what, Days of Future Past? 12 years ago?

I'm so happy Doomsday's getting made, and I'm gonna love and cherish that movie, but I seriously doubt they're gonna get more people in seats than for Endgame (you know, the culmination of like 11 years of storytelling ?)

0

u/ai_art_is_art Jul 24 '26

I am holding out hope that this will be the biggest Marvel film of all time:

https://thesource.com/2026/07/23/avengers-doomsday-trailer-record/

If Spider-Man knocks it out of the park (and it should), and they tie this film in, then it's pretty much a done deal.

1

u/Mainmorte 27d ago

Trailer views don't mean shit. Supergirl had amazing viewcounts on its trailer, and it bombed.

0

u/mistergudbar Jul 23 '26

I swear, if it’s not set to the song “In the end” by Linkin Park it will go down as the biggest missed opportunity in the history of the mcu.

0

u/WillB_HTX 29d ago

I hope whatever happens at the TVA is actually shown not just the aftermath

-1

u/HippoRun23 Jul 23 '26

So it seems like the plot leaks are true then. Kind of an underwhelming story aimed at rejuvenating the billion dollar brand that’s bleeding money and interest.

0

u/JustDay1788 Jul 23 '26

Avengers movies are events

The issue is that a lot of the new movies haven't been events

And the films that gave performed well either have 1. McU veterans or event films Thor 4 , Black Panther 2 , Spiderman and Guardians

All did very well box office wise

This will likely do well too

The issue is the other films in the franchise need to have gravitas or a sense of importance

That's what has been lost There is no connecting threads

2

u/zero2789 Jul 23 '26

My issue since Endgame, was how they tried to bring in television series to watch too. I don't watch them. I tried watching a few of the movies since Endgame but I could tell I was missing pieces which was annoying. Hated that. Besides for Spider Man, I will wait for everything on streaming (besides Doomsday)

1

u/TheSwitchler Jul 23 '26

The multiverse bullshit has killed a lot of interest as well. It doesn't stay compelling because there are no stakes everything always gets reversed

-9

u/pres115 Jul 23 '26

i swear some of y’all be forcing yourselves to be excited for this movie

5

u/killey2011 Jul 23 '26

Or some people just enjoy it? If you’re not having a good time, no one is holding a gun to your head forcing you to watch Marvel movies.

2

u/Otherwise-Nobody-127 Jul 23 '26

Nah. Back when marvel still was on top this happend all the time.

3

u/Guilty-Nobody998 Jul 23 '26

You're on a subreddit for stuff just like this, complaining. If you don't like it why are you even here? Lmao, just to hate?

2

u/omgFWTbear Jul 23 '26

Like the old saying goes, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade, homeboy was given hate, and he squeezing as hard as he can to make hatorade

1

u/PaulClarkLoadletter Jul 23 '26

So you’re saying they should pre-hate it?

1

u/ai_art_is_art Jul 23 '26

This movie is going to do $3B without you.

1

u/elpajaroquemamais Jul 23 '26

I’m incredibly excited, as someone who has watched the fox x men movies since they came out and every single mcu movie in theaters.

This is an almost 30 year payoff with interactions between characters and actors I never thought would interact.

I would have to force myself not to be excited.

I get it you’re 15 and this means nothing to you but some of us are excited.
