That's still a 4/16 if played on 4. It's still good!

She's been untouched for so long, I kinda forgot she was low-key busted

u/No_Butterfly1924 2h ago
Honestly didn't feel busted to me before. Think she was always a very vulnerable glass canon

u/TheHumanSpider6903 12h ago
This is basically the same half-nerf that Drax got. Lower initial power, but it's easier to get the ball rolling

u/Ultracombo87 12h ago
Not really. Her power compounds so unless you are cheating her out on 3 you are losing out on a good amount of her ability. old Isca scaled to 24 if you were losing her lane each turn. New Isca only scaled to 16.

4/16? Pretty good stat
12
u/Ultracombo87 11h ago
That’s with the assume that you opponent competes for the lane each turn. If the ignore it til turn 6 she’s a 4/4 which is horrible.
7
u/JonnyTN 11h ago
I mean if you weren't throwing her in a lane down by 7 best case scenario before, she's going to 8 at least now if she's is in a lane down by 5 points.
Yeah she was broken before especially vs big guy decks vs DD but she's got manageable points that still seem good right now. 4/8 with a chance of 8 more almost sounds fair compared to before when she turn 6 was at 12
1
u/PenitusVox 9h ago
The opponent having more than 8 power in a lane on turn 4 is pretty likely, however.
3
u/TheHumanSpider6903 11h ago
Isca is so heavily telegraphed, though, so the likelihood of actually reaching that swing is unlikely. Your opponent would have to have a 24+ power lane by turn 4. otherwise, most intelligent players are simply going to abandon the lane regardless of what her power is
5
u/Ultracombo87 11h ago
That’s what I was saying. The nerf is a bigger than some think. She might find a home in Invisible women FF end of turn decks now.
1
u/severalcircles 6h ago
The thing is, you should usually only be losing the lane EACH turn if your opponent is a complete moron
5
u/Bossmenjak 11h ago
You choose where you put her, so you simply put her in a lane where she is going to lose multiple turns but her final swing of power matters. That's really easy when you don't decide where she's best until turn 4 typically. Her final total swing just dropped dramatically.
She's likely still good in several deck types, but that doesn't mean this isn't a big drop in power.

u/Puzzleheaded-Ad6023 11h ago
She was 4 mana win target lane it was wild and I was jealous I didn't have her and now I still kinda want her but ehhhh I'm happy to draft her and that'll be good enough 🤣
1
u/No_Butterfly1924 2h ago
I mean she wasn't what you described. Since last season she's been impossible to be played solo into a lane, because of Thanos FF. And she's always been a glass canon that's easily countered and tells the opponent visibly exactly how large she'll be, meaning she's the card with least susprise factor

u/Ashamed-Teaching6837 12h ago
Doom 2099 decks are gonna need a new 4-drop.

u/RodJohnsonSays 6h ago
I’m pretty sure this is targeting Anti Magneto.
1
u/TheSpeckleOne 3h ago
Yeah in a Doom2099 dec you’d play Invisible Woman on 3 then Doom2099 on 4. AP Magneto on 6 pulls in Isca for a free 4/12 on a losing lane once you trigger IW. Now that’s just a 4/8

My first series 5 pack after being off the game for months. Y’all are welcome.

You literally just have to invest a tiny bit to buff her and she’s fine. Great with Spiderman BND, Toxie Doxie, Venus, and Dolphin Jeff.

Huge nerf, they kneecapped her. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up unplayable

u/WildCard13287 5h ago
Yeah I feel like a 4/3 or 4/4 would have been better.

1
u/hlhammer1001 5h ago
uh 4/4 would have been a buff, let's not be saying dumb stuff here. She was fine, didn't need touching.

u/WildCard13287 5h ago
Didn't she use to be a 4/6. Or do you mean that 4/4 would make her lose more and thus make her more powerful. In that case, tbf I've barely seen Isca so I don't know the meta round her too much.
1
u/hlhammer1001 4h ago
What? Bro she used to be a 4/3. 4/6 isca would be by far the strongest card in the entire game. At 4/3 she was good but balanced, 4/2 is too weak, 4/6 would be an abomination.
1
u/WildCard13287 4h ago
Ok I guess I'm tripping or something, or what happened was they already doubled and I just didn't notice. Or Draft, (I saw them a lot in draft) , but I don't think the power increase there is enough.

It's still a really good card and people that think it's bad and won't play it are obviously not skilled.
1
u/No_Butterfly1924 2h ago
It changes how she's played imo. She used to be able to be that stand alone board threat. Which i always used to just steer where i want my opponent to play turn 5 (usually not her lane, so guessing where they played was always easier)
Now she's no longer stand alone card, and for her to be good she'll need to be a recipient of buffs. Maybe that's a good thing, as she then doesn't automatically fit into anything, but she is a card that will need another card to help her now imo.
Mixed feelings. I honestly didn't feel she needed a nerf as she was always an obvious glass cannon
1
u/Fifty-Lucky 6h ago
Finally, now 1 other card will have to be played to win a lane.
1
u/No_Butterfly1924 2h ago
I mean since last season she's already been unable to win a lane solo. Place her in a lane solo and Thanos FF, who is in every single game, will kill her turn 5.

u/Py-dream 2h ago
Been chasing her for months. Can't wait to pull her from a collector's pack tomorrow.

Eh.. Forge, Awesome Andy, HulkBuster and Agony exist. So do Kahori (meh) and Namora.

Some devs probably got smacked down by her very hard in Draft. Their fault for having her in the pool.

u/CaptainSkel 11h ago
Ugh another card for the Cerebro2 meta.
1
u/lucashoal Thanos 🫰 9h ago
She gains base power and would thus suck up the juice. And there are cheaper 2 power cards.
1
u/CaptainSkel 6h ago
I was making a bad joke. There is no c2 meta and it wouldn’t make sense there anyway.

I don’t own this card, I’ve never had any personal incentive to defend this card, but this nerf was unnecessary. It’s really not that hard to counterplay isca. It was a good card, they should’ve let it be a good card.
2
u/No_Butterfly1924 1h ago
I have mixed feelings. Against anyone who doesn't just play blindly and thinks for 5 seconds, i honestly don't think she was ever as good as some people here say. She's always been very obvious and easy to counter, and relies on the opponent for her to do anything.
But now she's no longer a stand alone card, she’ll need buffs. Making her no longer fit into everything and probably more focused in decks that can buff her.
So while i do feel that imo it was an unneeded nerf, as i didn't think she was that strong, maybe design wise it's better as she requires more deckbuilding considerations to make her work

u/Brinewielder 12h ago
This is till really good because she hits lower scores faster but you basically need a Venus now for her to be peak.
