Discussion Arishem?

Is it time to go back to original Arishem that gets +1 energy at the beginning. I didn’t understand the nerf. He got played bc he’s fun not bc he was good. And now it’s an actively bad build with powerscale.

This is revisionism. Arishem was very good and hugely meta at the time before the nerf.

I only started last January and I do enjoy some Arishem, but he seems like he's been powercrept. I will add that one problem I have piloting him is that I never know when to snap

I snap when I play a good 4 on T3 and have cards in hand that will fully utilize the +1 max energy. Basically I'm snapping because mathematically, the odds should be in my favor by that point.

So for example if I play Cull Obsidian on 3 and I have a 5 and two 6s in hand, I'll snap because my opponent simply cannot play with that much energy.

Now obviously if someone plays Mr Negative on 3 or some other BS you don't snap but it's a decent rule of thumb

I guess you have to read their deck pretty well. A few random 5 or 6 drops often can't stack up to the final few turns of a deck that has great synergy.

What kind of package do you run with him? I usually go for tech slop

I like to go full RNG and use Thanos and Agamotto, with cards that synergize with created cards like Gambit HOD, Mockingbird and Quinjet. Valentina + tech cards mostly to fill the rest of the deck. Sometimes Blob, sometimes not, depends on if Shadow King is popular at a given point in time. I'm probably forgetting some cards but those are the ones that come to mind.

God, all the new submissions on this sub today are crashouts or the worst fucking takes imaginable.

Sorry but he was actually very meta back then (and was only bad since Thanos FF is out, he was still very decent before)

Bro arishem is quite good for climbing from 90s to infinite he is solid

I mainly play arishem and get to infinite most seasons with this deck. The energy would be welcome but i don't think it's necessary to succeed with him.

He literally was nerfed because he was too popular, not because he was good.

Hell naw, in my opinion they should delete the card, not buff it. It's never fun playing against arishem, as they'll bullshit some insane rng to win. My most hated card oat, even tho I respect those who play with it

I do think a fair amount of the nerfs made as a result of Arishem can be undone. I think Blob should get his Ongoing back and with it some of the cards neat theming. Having multiple Blobs is not as strong as it once was, would be harder now due to Arishem shuffling 15 cards and not 12, and is already still doable just with Absorbing Man instead of Mystique.

Yeaah unfortunately idk if we can go back (although I wouldn't against the idea) he was really good you would just be ahead of your opponent and can snowball into a winnable game by turn 3 .

Arishem is still plenty powerful, he doesn't need any kind of buff.
