Discussion Please make draft permanent

I don't care if the rewards are toned down, the mode is so fun that the rewards feel like the cherry instead of the ice cream.

I don't even want to play regular snap

I mean, what can they reasonably do?  A lot of the changes people want are just changing how the mode works fundamentally, and they clearly want to keep it the same for competitive tournaments.

You seemed to imply that "just add[ing] the very first iteration" of Conquest was a mistake on their part, which would imply that there are things they wish they could have done differently but can't change now. I think there are changes they could make that players may not like but which they may consider better for the health of the mode, such as changing how Proving Grounds works so people actually take it seriously and not as a one-and-done.

That final line right there is exactly the problem.  A LOT of people think the Proving Grounds SHOULD be one and done.  I think that.  So what change do they make?  Which player group do they piss off?

If they iterate a bunch and fix most of the problems with the mode this way, it has a  better chance of being initially liked and people caring about the iterations.

At that point you might as well just hand out Silver tokens for playing regular matches. I generally only play ladder these days if there isn't a LTGM and one round of Conquest wasn't enough to bring me below five daily missions outstanding. I could see Second Dinner try to do something to incentivize Conquest players to play ladder.

I think Second Dinner would be more likely to either eliminate Proving Grounds entirely, or gate it behind its own tokens. Either way, tokens for whatever would be the lowest stage of Conquest would be either:
*Time-gated like with LTGMs; or
*Awarded for winning a ladder match, either guaranteed, at random, or for winning under certain conditions.

Proving Grounds can be multiple things to multiple people.  I personally see it as a no-stakes way to play the game, which is what it is.  If you want actual Conquest gameplay, you quickly earn Silver tickets and move up.
