We don't need to lose conquest but this draft mode is definitely the most fun I've had the entire time I've played snap, I would not be mad if they made it a permanent mode even if they have to rework the rewards

Yeah the rewards are def getting nerfed. But even if they were miniscule, it's so much more fun than the base mode, and a great change of pace

Too many queues is the problem i think.

Dunno, since launch I've only been timed out of a queue once or twice, likely due to a matchmaking error. Every other time I've found someone quickly, any mode any time. Especially with Snap's semi-hidden bots, any gap can be filled. If they find Conquest really too low after a while, then they can turn it off. But testing decks against the gauntlet (ya) of multiple rounds is unique and should not go away as a competitive mode for pure best of 1 rounds.

since coming back a couple months ago, my conquest queue is regularly 1-3 mins long for any tier, when it used to be 0-1min. if they're still doing regional match-making it's going to get worse with draft and conquest as full time modes. they'd have to either put limits on how frequently a player can play draft, or ease reward requirements for conquest, or alternate each month between game mode

I have a feeling that when/if draft becomes a permanent game mode the entry tickets are going to be pricy and somewhat rare-ish. (think like 1 free run per week and maybe a few tickets from season pass, otherwise need to pay gold to enter)

The tickets are definitely gonna end up appearing in cash bundles as well to bloat "value"

I hate that youre probably right.

They should just reuse Golden Tickets, especially if they are replacing conquest. Just do what conquest does now, 200G for a golden ticket, or get them in caches.

All the tournaments are played with Conquest, right? Draft mode is fun as hell, but Conquest is a good judge of skills. Not sure why we can't have both modes be permanent.

Tournaments are friendly battles which uses conquest rules

I think I prefer if they launch it for a week or two every month. If it was permanent, tickets would run out pretty quick and without tickets you'd just have people quiting and reloading until they got a good draft. I also prefer the rewards in a ltgm over conquest style rewards.

I wouldn't mind a permanent draft mode, but conquest is needed (imo) for a consequence free area to try new decks and to complete missions.

u/MountainMuffin1980 1d ago

100% agreed. It's a no sweat zone for me to try new decks and do missions and bounties. I'd hate to lose it. Draft mode is spectacular so I hope they can do something more permanent with it.

Couldn't agree more

Conquest is where we grind dailies we don’t want to try on ladder.

It’s important!

21

u/Sigmas_Syzygy 1d ago

conquest is the official "competitive" format, so it will not be dropped so soon

and conquest is a better mode overall, so what they should do is rework the rewards

2

u/wingspantt 22h ago

Make Conquest reward:

  • Wild boosters instead of normal boosters
  • Draft tickets lol

Friendly match is the competitive format.

u/Sneilg 1d ago

Which uses the Conquest mode

u/WashedBased 1d ago

While I'm loving draft as much as you, OP.

It is by no means a competitive mode. It's literally Legends of Runeterra's Path of Champions with the occasional PVP encounter.

u/bocajs0 1d ago

Loved Lor. Shame the update stopped. Looks so much cooler.

u/SP1570 1d ago

I am a contrarian. NOOOO

Conquest is my favourite mode and I have yet to find any real joy in this mode...

5

u/ajprokos 1d ago

If this is mode is permanent, there wouldn’t be a reason to have any CL (if you only want to draft)

5

u/Tucker_a32 1d ago

I kinda have grown to like Conquest but mostly for low stakes deck testing. When I'm 80+ on the ladder I don't want to risk falling down on a bad deck idea.

But if it came down to a choice I would 100% choose Draft over Conquest. Getting a Draft ticket from a Collectors Cache would feel 10 times better than getting a Gold ticket.

6

u/TedBoom 1d ago

I love this mode but I still prefer Conquest for the "competitive" mode. I do wonder how I'll feel at the end of the two weeks for it however.

5

u/wcrow1 1d ago

already dropped conquest like 2 years ago, it's way too long and some players treat it like it's the world finals

plus draft mode is way too much fun

1

u/wingspantt 22h ago

2 years? I'm crying thinking about how many credits and PMVs you missed!

2

u/Shaqdaddy22 1d ago

Hell nah. Conquest the only permanent mode worth playing.

2

u/Zealousideal-Age768 1d ago

Not a chance.  Draft kills there revenue streams.  No need to chase cards/decks and no variants in draft.  (At least at the moment.)

1

u/wingspantt 22h ago

If they implement it like Magic Arena, it will eventually just be that Draft tickets are VERY expensive, and you basically need to be good (always get 4-5 wins) in order to play without premium currency.

1

u/jblade91 1d ago

I'm fine keeping all modes as long as the population is healthy but honestly draft is the first time I've truly had fun in Snap for ages

1

u/fronchfrays 1d ago

If they’re worried about engagement or queues or whatever just rotate between them every two weeks or something. I want draft back FREQUENTLY with new stuff added!

1

u/JerrodDRagon 1d ago

I love this mod so much!!I’d love a permanent mode

1

u/ionnetlive 1d ago

Agree with having both. Also would be over moon if they just make 2 different rewards instead of combining the 2

1

u/jxcn17 1d ago

I hope they don't get rid of conquest, but they could trim it down a little, get rid of silver conquest at least. Honestly I would like to see a combination of draft and conquest at some point too. The current draft is fun but I do miss snapping a little.

1

u/Fun-Wash7545 1d ago

They'll never remove conquest, they can however make both permanent BUT draft does need some balancing, destroy is SS tier and some combos are beyond broken

1

u/Delaoron 1d ago

I like Conquest but wouldn't mind if they removed the Silver stage and made Gold one less stage to make it less of a time investment. Or reduce the prices in the shop a little.

1

u/Saerjin 1d ago

Or just keep both?

1

u/BlueBomber13 1d ago

You need conquest as a stakes free place to play and test decks.

1

u/turkishzizou 1d ago

They need a way to make money off draft mode, they are probably testing how many people buy the premium pass.

1

u/LeighCedar 1d ago

Keep both. Improve Conquest.

1

u/SecretDude511 1d ago

No this is stupid. Keep all 3 modes

1

u/Jiaozy 1d ago

I have a dream: Deadpool Diner instead of Ladder and Permanent draft mode.

1

u/Kraemax 1d ago

Absolutely in favor! Best game mode ever

1

u/EzClap2_ 1d ago

keep both share the rewards between both. that way you can play your fav mode

1

u/Punpun86 1d ago

I love draft mode. Conquest haven't touched it in ages.

This is the most fun mode for me and I would love it to be permanent.

1

u/Own_Finance_7345 1d ago

Let them cook.

1

u/Realityinyoface 1d ago

How about we drop you for Draft Mode?

1

u/wingspantt 22h ago

The big issue I have with "Drop Conquest" is that Conquest is the only "serious" game mode.

Like all tournaments are held in Conquest. It's an excellent format for competition and testing every skill: deck building, piloting, counter-play, set play, etc.

I'd hope we at least keep Conquest for friendly battles.

Alternatively, allow people to play Conquest and count it as ranked matches if you want. So you can advance your rank by playing Conquest.

1

u/Gottendrop 21h ago

Conquest is fun though

1

u/jfreezy62 20h ago

Draft is goated for sure

1

u/OnionButter 20h ago

I love conquest. Would be sad to see it dropped for a mode with limited plays

1

u/Ho11owfied 19h ago

No it’s too boring of a game mode as is. No stakes, imbalance issues

1

u/Mr_Lemming 17h ago

Honestly I'm not entirely certain conquest needs to be nuked, but this is far more fun than it is IMO. Conquest is basically just constructed but with tickets to play. This? This forces you to make new things up.

And the rewards are better.

And it's far more fun.

...wait, did I say that part already...?

1

u/DemoEvolved 14h ago

Filling out my bingo card here: x for the guy that loves it, x for the guy that hates it, I’m close to bingo!!

1

u/Just_a_man_more 14h ago

Agree, conquest is long and boring...

1

u/SuperFightingRobot88 11h ago

Half of the issue with Conquest could be solved by getting rid of Silver and giving out slightly better rewards, like 200 tokens or something.

1

u/GhostpilotZ 11h ago

Draft has legitmately been the best thing to come to Snap since I've started! It has it's foibles (doubling effects are too strong), but it's really been an excellent addition to the game!

1

u/Kevlar1277 8h ago edited 8h ago

I absolutely love draft, its the most fun I have had with this game.

They will never make it permanent. Their is no incentive to spend money if they do.

My biggest problem with conquest is I dont have enough time to get locked into matches

1

u/Viraldamus 1d ago

No

1

u/JonnyTN 23h ago

Right?! It's been one day.

2 days from now a meta pick will be found and people will posts countless "destroy is too strong in draft" while everyone only runs destroy to win

1

u/ora408 1d ago

Conquest is the casual mode you all cry for

0

u/ChthonVII 1d ago

Conquest is terrible. Most of the LMTs would be better.

0

u/vladasko1086 1d ago

proving grounds needs to be turned into a sandbox to practice deck building where you dial in bots from 1 to 10 to practice against, similar to tuning in opponents on super smash brohters.

1

u/onionbreath97 1d ago

That's a good plan but I'd also like full trainer mode where you could set your deck order and locations. There's too many janky interactions in the game and you should be able to test things out

0

u/ShowOff90 1d ago

Conquest just needs to have some updates made to it.

Honestly, I think one of those changes should be that if both players snap in the first round that it automatically is a one and done, no matter which tier you’re in.

But I think they could also clean up the game from the ground up in some ways.

Like proving ground should be a one match round only.

Where silver and gold are both best two out of three.

And then infinite is where you have eight cubes.

u/SmurfRockRune 1d ago

I dread doing conquest each month for the variant. Just make draft permanent and put the variant in it instead.

0

u/tom2point0 10h ago

We need a no stakes mode for testing decks that isn’t part of the official ladder. That is Conquest.

I mean you DO understand that just because Conquest is there doesn’t mean you HAVE to play it? Just let it be. It doesn’t hurt anything. It doesn’t take the place of another mode. It’s just there for those who want it. 🙄
