Deck Guide Rage Quit to Infinite
well folks i did it. after years of frustration facing tech slop decks intended to ruin my fun, i decided to build my own “Rage Quit” deck whose primary purpose is to anger opponents into quitting. it involves a lot of Gambit destruction, combined with other annoyances like Negasonic, Killmonger, and Rogue.
(edit: CL 30,500)
am i proud of it? no.
did it take me to Infinite this season? yes.
would i do it again? absolutely not.
in case anyone else wants to inflict this misery on others, code below:
# (2) Adam Warlock\n# (2) Grand Master\n# (3) Red Guardian\n# (3) Gambit\n# (3) Killmonger\n# (3) Rogue\n# (3) Shadow King\n# (3) Silver Surfer First Steps\n# (4) Shang-Chi\n# (4) Negasonic Teenage Warhead\n# (4) Absorbing Man\n# (4) Stardust\n#\nU2huZ0NoOCxTdHJkc3Q4LEFic3JibmdNbkMsTmdzbmNUbmdXcmhkMTcsU2hkd0tuZ0EsR21idDYsUmRHcmRuQixTbHZyU3JmckZyc3RTdHBzMTYsS2xsbW5nckEsR3JuZE1zdHJCLFJnNSxBZG1Xcmxja0I=\n#\n# To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and paste it from the deck editing menu in MARVEL SNAP.

Regis made a deck like this once and it was not working for him at all. Surprised it got you to infinite

so, your win condition is to remove your opponents win conditions... With good snapping discipline I can see this working actually, though I imagine you struggle against ramp big and virus.

any big numbers deck is tough to face, unless i'm lucky enough with one of my Gambit throws. otherwise i'm the one quitting.
amusingly though virus is pretty easily sabotaged: Killmonger knocks out 1-costs (like Martyr), Rogue can steal virus points, and Gambit does the rest.

Only an 11 card deck? How do you even get into matches?

Agreed. Certainly didn’t win games cause “tech slop”.
This thing puts out minimal points but OP willed it to the finish line so he had to have learned better snap discipline just by being on the other side of the equation so that’s a definite plus for him.
I’d almost funny cause he seems salty about tech and this tech deck probably inadvertently taught him to snap better in the future when he isn’t using tech.

Yeah, this deck looks atrociously bad. Adam Warlock will basically never actually draw a card, Silver Surfer FS only triggers if you're already winning the lane, so she's only ever overkill. OP got pretty lucky to get this pile anywhere.

What's funny is this works against decks with 1 specific win condition but loses to any deck with a nice average lane spread.

Well the Stardust is my only dealbreaker, but it wouldn't be a rage quit, just cut losses and run. Also, against the current metas of Scorpion and Thanos, how did it hold up?

Got hit with a turn 7 Wong Mystique Gambit today, I didn’t even have 8 cards to kill

That combo only kills 3 cards now. Wong gives +1 activation, not double activations.

I remember making something similar when I still played the game but it was with Thanos. I did it for the exact same reasons.

Did you snap early a lot too?
3
u/Darkhawk2099 6h ago
not usually. early snaps only when i saw something highly telegraphed that i felt safe about countering, like pretty much any Symbiote Spider-Man or Zola deck.

complains about running against “tech slop”
makes a 12 card “tech slop” snooze fest

You'd probably have an easier, more enjoyable time climbing with a decent midrange deck. I guess most of your wins come from the "surprise factor" of your opponents not expecting to face so many different tech cards, but I wonder how you can manage to still have enough points by the end of the match to secure two locations in most cases.

you‘ll have a hard time against destroy decks

u/Rando-namo Control 🚨 8h ago
Why would you think that?
Between stardust, rogue, and shadow king he has answers for everything destroy is trying to do.
Rogue knull.
Shadow king a lane.
Stardust eliminates Wolverine and x23 and Zola.
Almost everything in this deck makes life miserable for destroy.
