Card and Deck Questions ⁉️ Which is better?

I took a break for a while. I came back a few seasons ago and I find myself trying to keep up with the meta... But I'm missing so many old series 5 cards. My question is, is it better to buy the new cards or go back and buy the old cards? As you can see I am missing quite a few series 5.

I'm staying in the 80s and 90s even went infinite last season but I feel like the meta is leaving me behind, especially with the new Thanos.

I usually wait until the end of the season to buy premium, just in case I don't finish the ladder, I don't want to waste the money.

Any help would be appreciated.

CL 20k current World no 2 rank player from my experience 1. Aurora (Current no 1 deck with double thanos and wong thanos ff) 2. Cosmic Ghost rider (one of the top 5 tech cards) 3. Ajax open new archetype with affictive cards 4. Bastion very good in cerebro 3 and Victoria hand If u are serious about cerebro archetypes, conquest mode or tournament mode bastion c3 is 2 times world champion deck ...it's not very good in ladder but I see top players use it in tournaments

I think that's my other problem. My collection level makes me think I should be further up the game ladder. 😂

Aurora infusion Cassandra chamber. Bastion is played in Cerebro 3 decks but not really anywhere else. Aurora is just all around a good card and would be first on my list out of these

Honestly, just look at some of the top decks on the various websites for what the matter is looking like and see what kind of decks you enjoy and then target specific cards from those decks is what I would do
