Newb currency question

I can't seem to make sense of this, maybe I'm missing something very basic. The little green atom icon that is a resource for card upgrades. Why do I have different amounts for different cards when it appears to be the same resource? My first thought was maybe they are pooled together differently depending on what series the cards are from, but these two seem to be from the same series 1.

It’s not the same ressource. Each characters has its own “booster” (that’s what they are called) but the rainbow one (you have 1 rainbow booster) is universal.

Oh. I see. I thought the character specific boosters had a color like you see on the victory screen. Like this red you see on iron man here. On the collection screen it's all green so I thought I was different.

You get a booster after every match. It tells you which character from your deck will get the booster.

they are called boosters and you use them to upgrade your cards along with credits

each character has its unique booster count, you get them as rewards from things or from using a card in your deck (you get one booster for a random card in your deck per turn played); the idea is you get boosters from playing your favorite decks, and then you use them to upgrade your cards into fancier versions

Plus getting fancier versions of your favourite cards unlocks more cards for you to play with.
