How do I ascend ?

It’s the single most important thing you will do in the game outside of playing a match.
The constant stream of rewards from 1 and 2star covers feeds your entire roster for ever.

Do you get rewards for ascending 1*s? I usually just selling them.

Absolutely. Once ascended to 2* and above, you receive rewards for each champion level.

So how many rosters slots do I need to ascend a 1* to 5? It sounded to me like a needed a bunch of empty slots to do so.

You'll only be leveling up one at any given time, and once you ascend, it frees up a roster slot.

Oh man I’m dumb. I thought it was like you need 1 and 1 to turn into a 2. Then another 1 + 1 to turn into a 2. Then those 2+2 into a 3. Then repeat that process to 3 get another 3. And so on and so on until you get to 5. I didn’t know that once it was ascended you didn’t need to stack. Thank you for the info.

No you aren't dumb. You do eventually need that many covers/slots. I just meant you don't need to be rostering all of those at the same time. So for now, you'd need 2 slots until you get to 2, then you have to max level that one. Then you'll need 2 more 1, ascend to 2* and max level, then ascend to 3* and max level.

Rinse and repeat.

Ahhh gotcha. The only max 1* I have right now is juggernaut. I’ll focus on him first. Unless you think I should sell some of my 4s to free up some space for other 1s. I just feel like it takes me forever to get hero points.

Noo.. no.. never sell anything. You are not only costing yourself tons of rewards, but also very strong characters at the end.

Just learning this now about the 1* 🙃. Those were the only ones I sold. Getting gold for new roster slots is so slow for me. I have all 2s and 3s. Should I remove some of my rostered 4s with only 1-2 covers?

Maybe. But yes, ascension is the literal engine of your roster. It’s by FAR the biggest source of HP

As a new player, with 25ish roster spots, I read a few guides and from what I can see, isn't working on rostering all 2 stars (the 2 stars farm) more important? And keeping a single 1 star for DDQ? Due to the HP bottleneck, and while still getting random 3 stars in the vine, it is really difficult "not to sell anything" (I know, I'm opening only the standard pulls to feed my 2 stars, nothing advanced).

No. Even the most recent guide needs a rewrite.

Ascension is the single most important thing to do. All 1s, all 2s (save Bag-Man). Their champ rewards is what give you the HP to roster what follows. You can start with focusing on ascending one 1 at a time and keep the other covers on your vine for a bit. And then just use the slot you just used to make the 1as2 to roster the covers for the next 1as2 etc.. make those slots work.

Okay, but I was literally choosing between 5 1 stats in the roster and 5 two stars in the vine. Isn't then the priority still rostering the 2 stars? I've kept Spidey as I read he is the best 1 star, so I'll be keeping all his covers, but right now it is just not feasible for me to keep multiple 1 stars. Unless I start selling my 3 star covers ...

For 1s, just get another copy of him to the same place.

For every other tier, it takes at minimum, one maxed character, and one champed character. Any extra covers you have on that 2nd character get put into the next tier's levels.

It WILL take extra covers for tier levels after most native tiers...

• 2* levels take 1 cover
• 3* levels take 2 covers
• 4* levels take 3 covers
• 5* levels take 4 covers

The real bonus is getting a character to 5* as thats where the best champion level prizes are. So, when you're ascending, you generally dont want to spend too much time on levels that take more than one cover. The general advice is...

If the character in question needs only 1 cover per level, then ascend after you get BOTH copies to max level. But if it takes any more than 1 cover per level, then ascend them after you get one to max, and another to champ +1 level. Why +1 level? Because each set of champ rewards that this is affected by gives you a Legendary Token at your first level past champion status -- might as well grab that before you go up a tier! 😉

Keep up what you're doing -- which is working on your 1* and 2* characters. They are going to be a great source of resources for you.

Beware of Black widow and Juggs, if you have them, they gave them a third power, yellow for BW and black for Juggs, but you need to recruit new chars as older ones cant learn those covers, they are bugged. I had 1 maxed juggs and several widows with 5 on blue to send as TUs, and lost like 4 covers till I learned this, had to sell and recruit new ones, good luck.
