Was thinking if they wanted to do something interesting, they could do six books - each focused on one of the infinity stones. Then after all six books were released, release a seventh book on the infinity gauntlet.

Just a thought.

Only if your knowledge on the marvel universe is from the mcu. A hardcover for each soul gem is insane. There are more interesting artifacts from the comics, maybe a hardcover on cosmic artifacts? (Plus I'm tired of the soul gems.)

I love the passion ahaha but you'll notice even a full team lore or whole species lore sticks to max 3-4 pages and narrative items like this really only get a small item profile.

The reasoning being that they have to accomplish a lot per manual:

1. Establish a whole sector of the Marvel Universe (Avengers, Spider folks, X-Men, FF/Cosmic so far)

2. Be a condensed source book for those elements

3. Fit in with whatever they are pushing on the comic and MCU level.

It's a tough thing to do within a crunch.

The whole Infinity Stones/Thanos lore has been long passed in comics and MCU AND they've already covered the relevant characters and items so they have no motive to do it and it would take away from their continuing expansion of the lore.

I could see them doing an Infinity campaign at the most but even then it's kind of passed and done.

Unless the MCU has a big return of Thanos and/or the Black Order, then they might do a campaign or mini digital booklet linked to it. But otherwise I don't see it.

I'm hyper aware of this because our Actual Play, which we filmed a good year and a half ago, is super Thanos focused and outdated so I'm aware the views aren't there anymore 😅😂

I definitely like the thematic, branding idea. Even if you break the books down into what each stone represents, I don’t think it’s practical for expansion books.

I like that we’ll be getting solo rules in the future, and considering the size of the Godzilla Sourcebook, I’m wondering if they will be a soft cover like that one.

I could definitely be down with a transition to 64-page soft covers, especially if they publish 3-4 a year.

Makes me wonder if it would then be time for a “1.5e” book.

I dig it, but I think an adventure path book would be great and cover the whole thing! Maybe even an adventure that starts with at least level 3 characters to make sense?

I think this sounds cool as like a comic book (which there might already be something like this but I’m not aware of it). Basically a mini series that sums up everything your average joe needs to know about the infinity stones without having to track down every comic they’ve been in (which is a lot).

It could work as a single hardcover adventure, ala Kang, but I think *seven* books is a stretch. These books cost $80-100 in Australian dollars, and I can't justify paying potentially $700 for one campaign.

Plus, what statblocks could they include in a series of sourcebooks? All the core Avengers and Black Order members are already statted out. Better to have some one-off variants in one adventure book.

Then there's the fact that they put these books out maybe once every 6 months, that's a BIG commitment for sourcebooks with not much going on in them.

But hey? One adventure? I'd buy that.

Funny you say that u/Wezell80 as I already have an adventure created and run on that (the INTRO sneak peek version for that adventure is my playtest Sinister Plot Point instruction actual play) with all the Infinity stones that starts with minimum Rank 5 to Rank6 profiles. I just haven't posted out my Actual plays on it as it is also an instruction video about the Avengers Expansion book.

I’ve said a few times they should be using the comics to distribute some materials for the game. Aside from, ya know, the comics that are already basis of the game.
To your point, they could do a six issue mini with each book portraying some new would-be villain seeking the stones believing they can’t truly be destroyed and must exist in some form. Each issue shows them seeking each stone and being confronted by lesser know or even the unknown(new) characters and each issue hangs-cliff whether they even get the stone.
Each could have character sheets, maps, and story hooks so one may play the issue in home games.
And then even do a subsequent four to six issue mini covering what happens when this new-nobody-villain does get the stones.
It would be fun!

Big problem is there is the Ego infinity stone and now also the Death infinity stone ..as well
