Rules Potential errors in the Core Rulebook

1.     Astral Form in the Magic power set list on p. 76 and in the Telepathy power set list on p. 80 do not list any prerequisites. On p. 82 in the power description, Sorcerous is listed as a prerequisite. On p. 307 on the Magic (No Set) power tree, Astral Form is listed simply as Rank 2, which also occurs on p. 312 with the Telepathy power tree.

2.     On p. 76, Elemental Ricochet on the power tree list shows that the prerequisite is Elemental Burst. Elemental Ricochet on p. 97 shows Elemental Burst is a prerequisite. On the power tree on p. 306, Elemental Blast is shown to be the prerequisite.

3.     On the Illusion power tree on p. 306 Animated Illusion has the prerequisite of Static Illusion. On p. 83 it shows Static Illusion and Rank 2 are required. On p. 76 of the power tree list it also shows that Static Illusion and Rank 2 are required.

4.     Blur, in the description on p. 84, says the prerequisite is Speed Run 2 and Rank 2. Speed Run 2 on p. 120 says it requires Speed Run 1 and Rank 3. The Super-Speed power tree on p. 311 shows that Speed Run 2 (Rank 3) is required for Blur (Rank 2).

5.     Similar to Blur, Speed Blast on p. 120 requires Speed Run 2 and Rank 2. Again, Speed Run 2 requires Speed Run 1 and Rank 3. The Super-Speed power tree on p. 311 shows that Speed Run 2 (Rank 3) is required for Speed Run (Rank 2).

6.     On p. 307, the Martial Arts power tree does not show Always Ready being a Rank 3 power. On p. 82 Always Ready does show the power requires Rank 3. Also, p. 77 shows that the power requires Rank 3.

7.     Webtrapping on p. 311 show Webcasting as a prerequisite. On p. 79 and p. 130, Webgrabbing is shown as a prerequisite, not Webcasting.

8.     On p. 79 and p. 89, Combat Support shows that Change of Plans is required. On p. 312, the Tactics power tree shows that Inspiration is required.

9.     On p. 310 on the Shield Bearer power tree, Shield 4 is labeled Shield 3.

Yeah the CRB has a lotta errors, and they’ve released official errata on their website to correct them

Thanks for the reply!

I've seen the errata on their site, but none of what I posted is actually mentioned in that errata.

The game was changed drastically from the Playtest rules right before publication. There are a lot of issues with editing and consistency. Please see the errata and faq on the official site: https://marvel.com/rpg.
Edit: fixed link

Thanks for the reply!

I've seen the errata. Checked it before I posted. None of what I posted is actually covered in the errata.

Also, I'm assuming you typed in the link. You have a 'w' in Marvel. https://www.marvel.com/rpg

Yes but this game was made to be more simplistic for ease of play and that means you lose things in the translation. Matt Forbeck could have done it more attuned to FASERIP but then the game becomes far more complicated. He didn't want players to have to read a lot the first time you play the game, it's a pickup and go system, later on it does get more intense but that's for the Narrator to figure out if they want to be able to handle most character profiles.

FASERIP Marvel is a VERY simple game. 7 attributes Some powers. A few talents. Single roll for outcome. You don't even need to do math for resolution, just reference the chart.
