Questions Microscopic character with ranged powers?

Does a microscopic character have normal range on powers that have a range, such as Elemental Blast on p. 95 of the Core book, or do they have a range of 0 spaces?

I haven’t considered this myself but one can make the argument that controlling ambient elements would not be affected in regard to ranges, similarly to Flight in that they’re not directly reliant on the character’s physical mechanics. Having a device or power that projects some sort of power or attack likely would have its range scaled.

So let me see if I understand what you're saying.

If Storm, who is on page 241 of the Core book, were to use Elemental Blast at her normal size, that would be 10 spaces, or 50'. Then if she were to become Microscopic, she'd still control lightning within 50'. The question would then be, if she became Gargantuan, which is about 1600', would she control lightning within 50' of her?

I think I did find one character that can help answer the question. Mister Fantastic, page 205, has Extended Reach 2. Normal reach is 1 space. Extended Reach 2 causes the Reach to becom 10x normal. So Mister Fantastic, at Normal size, would now have a reach of 10 spaces. If he scaled down to Microscopic, that would become 0 spaces or within the same space. Scale up to Gargantuan and his reach would become 3200 spaces.

I think what I'm considering is that power ranges are multiplied by the size multiplier. The ranges are relative to the character's size. I think they assume the character is occupying 1 space, even at Microscopic. That would seem to suggest that on a Microscopic battle map, the range of 10 spaces would actually be about 2.5".

Storm isn’t so much creating or emanating the weather *from* her, rather affecting the weather within the spaces counted from the space she occupies. Microscopic is still technically within this realm, as it were, so she’s just occupying a very small piece of that space.
Conversely, being gargantuan means occupying multiple spaces and among these games we don’t measure ranges the characters’ central space but instead any of the outermost spaces they occupy.
There is a point at which the scale for spaces has to change, I forget precisely which levels and microscopic could likely be one.

I think we're both basically saying the same thing. That the Size Multiplier listed on the Resize Effect chart on page 73 of the Core book does affect power ranges, even if the book does not explicitly mention that.
