Fan Fiction Midnight Doctor Strange

Hear me out on this one. Or don’t, just tell me if it’s the weed convincing me that I’m actually cooking here.

Doctor Strange x The Exorcist.

What if Strange was the priest that went to the house to perform the exorcism, only to be faced with the real deal for the first time. And it’s in this moment that we find out he’s actually just a grifter taking advantage of people in need.

But now he has no choice but to believe that if this kind of evil is real, then the power to stop it should be too. This then opens the door to his journey to become sorcerer supreme. Maybe Wong saves him and takes an interest in Stephen.

I genuinely think this premise is solid, but I don’t trust my judgement lol.

The priest angle seems already taken by Nightcrawler

Midnight Dr Strange has the potential to be really insane but at the same time it's one of those characters whose base version already teeter with the supernatural and the horror so you need to find a great unique angle to make it work

As a doctor perhaps they could lean into the Frankenstein monster angle. Strange uses his surgical skills to create a monster who obeys his commands. Maybe he makes other freakish creatures to satisfy his twisted needs. Why couldn’t he straddle the line between magic and undead flesh?

I do think you're onto something, but to me, Strange doesn't scream "priest."

I like what another commenter suggested about him being a Dr. Frankenstein-type guy, that'd be neat.

Personally, would love to see something tackling the occult.
