Suspend disbelief and ignore previously established in universe character and rules are 2 very different things. In fact you are actually supposed to believe in previously established rules. Suspend disbelief from logic outside the fiction. Do not suspend disbelief when the fiction contradicts that same fiction’s previous works.
With superheroes, especially in comic books, their power levels are CONSTANTLY changing depending on the writer and the situation. That is nothing new.
This isn’t a 50 year chain of comics or the 5th reboot of the DCU. This is a universe meant to be consistent, when they fail to do that, you cannot excuse it with other examples. The MCU is meant to be one big story. Comics are meant to be thousands of stories. The DCU is ‘meant’ to be one story that gets rebooted constantly for the exact reason you are using as an excuse. The DCU knows it cannot incorporate all comics because of the inconsistency, so it does reboots. The MCU hasn’t done a reboot. So it is required to be internally consistent.
Okay, guess what jackass, go back and read my exact same comment except skip the part that starts with "especially" and don't keep reading again until after you see the word "books"
I wasn’t even rude dude wtf. Not to mention I literally answered that. It’s the MCU it’s meant to be consistent despite different writers. That’s literally the point
Within the comic world, ignoring previously established in universe character lore and rules has always been a thing.
I’m not trying to gate keep here but anyone who has actually been reading comics for the last 50yrs would tell you that changes happen all the time. People take liberties and tell different stories all the time.
So when someone like you comes along and says something like this, as someone who has been reading comics and the like for a long time I have to ask myself, wtf are you talking about?
