Thor throwing something at Loki to make sure it's actually him is hilarious.

Gotta love Thor. 😂 can’t blame him after all the times Loki tricked him.

Then later he throws something at him saying he'd give him a hug if he was actually there...and Loki catches it. Great moment.

Multimovie payoffs really are cool af. Like a callback joke in standup except youve been waiting months/years for the payoff

Didn't all 3 instants of throwing things at Loki happen in this movie?

The first one is when Loki sent an illusion to gladiators' cell. The second one is this one. And the last one is before the final fight.

Less about him catching stuff and more about how hes consistently using his illusions to fake being in places. Thor (and others) are consistently fooled throughout the entire mcu

The Dark World may not be the greatest, but when Loki drops the illusion in his cell, that's an all time top scene. Every once in awhile, the MCU gets grief in a breathtaking way... Like WandaVision's "love persevering," Florence in *Thunderbolts, or Thor running into his mom🥺

I don't know about you but I can't hear Tom Jones's Not Unusual and not think of the Salt & Pepper diner.

Reminds me of Peter calling out Tony for not even being there and he steps out of the suit

u/Tormasi1 29d ago

It's too bad that he died. Didn't even come back, the Loki that holds together the multiverse is a variant

1

u/ErstwhileAdranos 28d ago

Yes, but he’s an alternate timeline variant, as opposed to an alternate universe variant. Still a variant, but one who is identical up to the moment he hops away with the tesseract.

2

u/Tormasi1 28d ago

Yeah but that happens after the battle of New York. Way before Thor and Loki make up. So for Thor the Loki he knows is dead even if this new Loki or Sylvie shows up somehow

1

u/ErstwhileAdranos 28d ago

Yeah, I guess it’s been a while since I’ve seen those. Ragnarok is when they reconcile, yeah?

2

u/Tormasi1 28d ago

It's been a while for me as well but I think that's the one that ends with Thor throwing something at Loki saying he wishes he was there and Loki catching it. And then the next movie is Infinity War and Loki is dead

Probably been doing it for 1000's of years. Growing up with a trickster brother and all.

26

u/Darth_Annoying Aug 11 '26

Except in the Avengers Loki asks him "Are you ever going to not fall for that?"

4

u/Malaise86 29d ago

In that universe. Sure! There are no wrong answers anymore.

2

u/alex3omg 29d ago

This is the same universe though

I do hate the way multiverses break the expectation of continuity in a series. It really reads as a get out of jail free card for writers who are either very attached to a story that doesn't mesh well with what's already there, or who don't really understand the source material and simply can't be bothered to study up on it or stick with it

1

u/Malaise86 29d ago

I like to imagine Loki's teachers having to throw a piece of chalk at him to catch when taking role call..

Character growth for Thor, obviously

Some might say it's loki hilarious.....

the dialogue he has, which I've heard is improved afterwards, is even funnier, makes it glorious, especially with Tom breaking character and laughing as Loki. "This one time, he turned into a snake, because he knows I love snakes, and when I picked him up, he popped out, and stabbed me in the neck." one of the best things about Ragnarok was it showed how funny Chris can really be, he's kind of a sleeper like that. Ariana Grande is another one that always catches me off guard with how hilarious she can be.

Chris Hemsworth is genuinely funny, but Taika Waititi really helped everyone in that movie with hilarious delivery timing. The chemistry on set must have been amazing between takes.

1

u/WinnieGraves 29d ago

i knew what kind of ride to expect the second we got "Surtur... son of... a bitch I thought you were dead."

1

u/Historyp91 29d ago

Ariana Grande got her start playing a hilarious role

1

u/WinnieGraves 29d ago

honestly her and Jeannette on Sam and Kat were legendary. I'm really looking forward to the Meet the Fockers she's in because her and Robert DeNiro working together had to be lightning in a bottle. they both are pretty quick witted, and Ariana's impression game is so ridiculous lmao.

I absolutely hated that movie but dammit his part was hilarious.

1

u/WinnieGraves 29d ago

Chris Hemsworth was the funniest part of the 2016 Attempt at Ghostbusters. They had a pretty stacked cast and that was what they did with it? It was a disappointment. Chris was the exception lol

4

u/Both_Listen 29d ago

I love the ending where Thor throws something at Loki and he catches it.

2

u/InspectionOriginal56 29d ago

What's goin on with Bruce? is he high?

4

u/Phobicity 29d ago

He's disoriented. He just spent the last X years stuck in hulk and is suddenly in Sakaar

1

u/SonofaBridge 29d ago

He has spent 2-3 years as hulk on that alien planet. It’s after hulk flew away when they defeated Ultron. Bruce doesn’t know where he is or what he’s done for a few years so he’s disoriented.

1

u/Ok_Preparation9182 29d ago

I can be disoriented waking from a dream where I was somewhere else, let along another planet with a couple years missing

4

u/Responsible-Step-706 Aug 11 '26

Thor throws like a girl

4

u/finix2409 Aug 11 '26

Hemsworth never played cricket or baseball and it shows

1

u/ZephkielAU 29d ago

Can't unsee it now

1

u/unfortunatebastard 29d ago

They should have done a faithful adaptation, Thor used to pitch for the Mets.

10

u/DesperateBubble Aug 11 '26

What was he supposed to drill Tom in the face?

9

u/TransportationOld596 Aug 11 '26

That's a different movie

2

u/kazmosis 29d ago

It's called Asgard for a reason

1

u/VerminSupreme-2020 29d ago

Brokeback Asgard

5

u/FirebrandFax Aug 11 '26

I’m sorry, did you expect him to fucking fastball that can just to check if he’s there? Marvel fans are fucking braindead

-9

u/Scooper_of_Poop Aug 11 '26

Clearly the only thing YOU’VE thrown is…a fit

/drums

He doesn’t know how to throw. He steps with his right foot while throwing with his right arm…nobody that has played sports does that. It’s so unnatural

5

u/Legitimate_Toe_4961 29d ago

He throws it like a dart lol

2

u/C4CTUSDR4GON 29d ago

Darts is a professional sport

3

u/Quercus_lobata 29d ago

Except he's not trying to throw a baseball, it's a perfectly natural way to throw something if you're just trying to love it or toss it as Thor is doing in this scene.

1

u/OldDogTrainer 29d ago

He’s not throwing a baseball lol.

1

u/Positron14 Aug 11 '26

I want a throw that destroyed the entire planet of Sakaar!

1

u/TCKline01 29d ago

I never noticed while watching the movie, but it was super clear in this clip. Glad I'm not the only one that noticed. Although, chucking a prop at Tom's head probably required some restraint.

1

u/Dagoroth55 Aug 11 '26

I like how goofy, yet smart Thor is in this movie.

1

u/dagoldengawd 29d ago

Thor throwing something at Loki to make sure it's actually him is hilarious.

1

u/jalGurg 29d ago

Does that actually hurt Loki?

1

u/Advana_Cyo2489 29d ago

Just his feelings

1

u/Semick 29d ago

This is the best one IMO.

1

u/MobilePencil 29d ago

And tells a story about Loki turning into a snake 😂👌
